this seems like a good was to get rid of stress

well i sent most of my weekend tweaking my ps, did not go to a cousins wedding thats how focussed i was. My referees office hours were today 1-2pm. i travelled the two hours into uni so I can hand in my ucas form, and she was not there! she then e-mail me saying to hand it in on wednesday instead. im not happy with leaving it that late plus ill have to make the 4 hour trip there and back again on wednesday. I hope that she will have my reference done by thursday, so ucas can get it by fri, and then on mon/tues i can phone ucas up and ask them if my application was ok. jus hope everything goes ok. I jus sent offf the gamsat application form today. tomorrow i will be revising esters and ph, cant wait!

Hey and i used to think that wearing glasses made me look ugly, but on the tube today this sexy guy witha french accent appraoched me, i goes are you french, he goes that he was from trinidad, and his eyes were so nice, they were this greeny hazelly colour so nice. I get guys coming up to me the whole time, but its soooo much nicer when you find the guy attractive. well at least one good thing happened to me today! and i cant look too bad in my glasses otherwise he wouldnt have approached me! I think I might even wear my glasses at the med school inetrview to make me look more intelligent, maybe even wear a skethescope (i know i cant spell it) to help them visualise me as a doctor!

was home all day, but i couldnt do much revision, instead I went through a chemical energetics book and wrote all the bits i couldnt remember on post it notes, and stuck them on my bedroom wall.

today i finally tracked done my referee and it only took her ten mins to print off my reference. posted it to ucas by specail delivery. Did some banking, went to southall to get my eyebrows done for sunday, the rude lady jus sat there and carried on gossiping to her mate on the phone. Shie looked up and said that she is busy! i said i can wait, and proceeded reading a magazine. 15 mins later she was still "busy " gossiping on the phone. so i got up and just walked out of the place. I was tempted to say to her that I will never go there ever again but I resisted- gosh ive matured!

Met a friend at Hangar lane station and she kindly brought me her notes from last yr, it will save me from going to the lectures, freeing up more time for gamsat preparation. Mates birthday on friday, dont know what to get her. We have never bought each other anything in the past, so a dont think it is appropiate to buy her anything expensive. Shes got quite a dirty sense of humour, so i might buy her a book based on that, maybe the Kama Sutra or something along those lines!

nothing much today, just stayed at home doing gamsat revision. I printed off medpreps' science gamsat test, did the science section and got 49%. I guessed all the physics questions. ive got 12 weeks to go until the gamsat, and im already getting around the 50% mark. My aim is to order some more gamsat simulated tests, complete one maybe one month from now. I will aim for at least a 5 % improvement in my science section score.

ok today I went to Gradmeds' Verbal reasoning (section one) course. Overall I found the course useful, and it had increased my confidence in section i. However I feel, and so did other students, that the simulated gamsat papers were of a poor quality. The Tutor forget the answers to most of the questions, and simulated papers he set us. The simulated papers were created by the tutor "on the spot", and if we found any of the answers incorrect, he would say that now he knows to change in for future use. Finshing the course I felt confident armed with the tips he gave me, but at the same time feeling that I should practice on papers that have been validated and tested for reliability, just as the GAMSAT papers have been.
The papers used are the only critism I have of the course, overall it was beneficail

hi since my last posting I took medpreps online test and got 69% in section 1.

So I guess the course did kind of pay off.

I think that I can leave the section 1 revision to maybe just two hours per week, and spend more time on the written and science.

Today has been a real confidence boost, and there were 14 other people on the same course as me today, i have all of their email addresses so I have built a email based support network-pleased with that.

My mate suki agreed to come out with me tommorrow, i think ill treat myself to a GAMSAT free day!

Hi for some reason I cant sleep tonite. So I might as well tell you guys a bit about me

Im 21 years old, female, and my real nickname is Simran. At high school I used to be the school boffin, and I spent most of my time studying.
I was quite shy so I buried myself in my books. As a result my GCSE grades were really good, I got presented with "the chairmans award for academic excellence" for getting the best results out of my yr.

In college I was less shy, I was actually quite popular. I would skip classes so that I could hang out with my mates.
I saw a college careers advisor, she asked me if I knew what degree I wanted to do, i said i was not so sure, she asked me what a levels i was doing, i said maths, che and bio.
She instructed me that the best career route was to become an actuary.

So i applied to acturial science.
I was estimated AAB, but due to my messing around I got CCD instead.

However Kent still want me to sign up on their acturay degree, however my gut instinct was that I did not want to get into Mathematics.
Instead I chose to study Cognitive science (psychology based), as I had a relative who used to have a mental illness, and I wanted to understand more about mental illnesses.

Well Im glad I made that decision. I really enjoyed my degree, the subjects I found the most interesting were the actual wiring of the brain. Parkinson's disease, what happens when one hemisphere is removed from the head.
I found psychology to be not concrete enough, as there are so many theories and possible explanations for the same phenomena.
Well now im finishing off my degree, and hopefully ill be starting med school in sep 2004

As you know, today was a GAMSAT free day.

Loads of friends have suggested that I do some modelling, however I have never thought myself to be that pretty.

You see that regardless of my achievements I would feel that I was really thick and unattractive, I had little self esteem.

However over the past year my attitude towards life has changed, before I would never try my best because the worst possible thing that could happen to me is that I would give something my 100% and fail.
This would be far worse than putting a moderate about of effort in and getting by.
However know I believe that the most successful people in the world are the people who are the most hardworking.

Last year I took a Mensa test in an attempt to improve my self esteem about my intellect. My score was in the top 1%, so I qualified for Mensa membership.
This left me feeling that I do have loads of potential to fulfill.

Today I went to a Asain festival. There was one stall looking for models, and they suggested that I should apply. I was like "seriously , you actually think ive got a chance?".She suggested that i did and said that i needed more confidence in myself. The suggestion that I should become a model made me feel less ugly, kinda filled me with confidence.

Today at the festival there were radio presenter auditions for a local radio station, my mate pushed me into it. I actually enjoyed it.

The Samaratins were there as well and im thinking about joining them. There was a fashion show and music as well, it was quite a good day out.

Hi i live in london and my mum lives in birmingham.
i recently moved, so all my post goes to my mums address, and she redirects it to my address.
Well mum recieved some post from GAMSAT on friday, and she redirected it to me using a first class stamp.
I should have recieved it on saturday, but todays monday and I still havent received it. :?
The post included the £37 of practice GAMSAT material, if the Royal Mail have lost it, then i will have to fork out another £37 pounds.
I heard that there might be a postal strike in Birmingham, so that might be the reeason I havent got it, but im still stressing about it.

I really dont want to have a socail life as active as the one i had last year, but i have to go out on Friday as its a friends 21st birthday party

And my boyfriend is causing me problems, im not sure that we should still be together.

I also had the idea of polishing up my Italian and appling for med school in Italy. I wonder if their entrace requirements will let me in.

im gonna go searching on the net for Italian schools who will let me in.
