Kriss-kross!!!
Helloooooooooo everybody!!!!!
Ive been reading your weblogs over the past few weeks and have decided that i should start writing one too! Whether anyone will be interested enough to read about my rather uneventful life at the moment, remains to be seen!
I put the name 'kriss-kross' as i always remember mattyk calling me that whenever i spoke to him and i thought it was so funny!
Nothing too exciting has happened recently, received acknowledgements from Barts, B'ham and Southampton and have been baking a lot of cakes recently-which is extremely odd for me as i dont normally like cooking!!! I have to admit I have been worried about what will happen over the next few months-will i get interviews or wont i?, will i be a complete gibbering wreck if i should get an interview or wont i? and most importantly what will i do if i dont get in-e.g. where will i do biomed, etc??? Although i havent been panicking about not getting interview dates-probably because i remember from last year how many successful people didnt get called until march/april. Im just glad at the moment that i havent been rejected........yet!!!!
For people who dont know, im on a gap year after applying last year and being unsuccessful. Ive got an interview for volunteering work next week so im really looking forward to that!
Im feeling really sleepy at the moment so cant think of what to write but i promise to write more if i dont send people to sleep with my very dreary weblogs!!!!!! :lol:Krissy

Awww you guys are sooo sweet! Im surprised no one has voted 'No'!!!??? You realise now im just going to be on autopilot, writing on and on and on and on....!!!!!!
I cant believe it we've won the Rugby World Cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im not into rugby-more into football but seeing as England have won then i think we should all have a day off on monday (every year) to celebrate this victory!
Had a nice lie-in today, just couldnt be bothered to get up, even the postie was late! He said hes been listening to the rugby on his radio and its been slowing him down!Bless him-hes become my best friend over the last few months as i keep greeting him every morning hoping for a letter inviting me to an interview! Before i sent off my ucas application this year i had no idea who my postman even was as last year he used to come after i had already left for college. I think ill do a bit of a tidy up today-theres a lot of washing that needs to be done and my room is full of magazines that are probably from last year!!! Im reading the Rise and Fall of Modern Medicine by James Le Fanu and i have to recommend it to people who havent got it-its a really really really good book and itll give you lots of ideas about how to answer questions about developments in medicine over the last 50-75 years.
I thought id add a little bit about me-im afraid i dont have a favourite quote or a favourite colour but i can tell you i LOVE dance music!!!!
I have to admit that i do like clubbing occasionally but im not a regular clubber. I'll go once every few months, especially if its a friends birthday, post-exams, etc, but i really like dance music because it motivates me-it makes me want to get up and dance!!!!-(not a great sight!). I really like the 'Close to the edge' by Michael Wood & Surlex, 'So damn beautiful' by Poloroid, 'Cry little sister' by the Lost Brothers, 'Are you brainwashed' by Tomcraft and 'Just a little more love' by David Guetta and Im still loving 'Bhangra Knights' by Husan from the summer. I do like going out drinking socially but i never aim to purposely get drunk and im also one of those people who doesnt get drunk easily-everyone around me is usually completely drunk by the time i even get a little bit tipsy!!! I dont like beer or red wine but other than that i drink most things-especially LOVE baileys!!!!!!!!
Best be going to make myself some breakfast-ive been taking special iron supplements which mean i cant eat for an hour after ive taken them, so although ive been up for a while ive not had anything to eat as of yet. Must go and raid kitchen cupboards!!!!!

Its getting late and am feeling very sleepy but thought id check my emails, read new posts and write a short sentence on here. My day has been pretty boring, the weather has been awful where i live so i didnt feel like going out. Spent most of the day cleaning the house-had a neighbour pop in the afternoon so had a good chat with her and my mum, as well as eating a lovely carrot cake!!!!!
I missed the organised chat
....i completely forgot about it-came back from the pub at about 9pm and decided to watch the wedding planner, it was ok but not that good. I must admit i feel kinda lonely after watching romantic movies, its been a long time since theres been anyone special in my life......but i havent met anyone lately who i would want to go out with. Dont get me wrong (im sure any girls out there will back me up on this!
), there are lots of guys who i see and think 'oh hes good looking, etc' but no-one that i think 'wow, theres something about him!'. Anyways enough about me ranting on!lol! Im gonna go and make myself a hot cup of cocoa before i go to sleep. Night everyone, sweet dreams!

IVE GOT MY FIRST INTERVIEW DATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant get this huge grin off my face!!!!!!! Im so glad you cant see my face because i look like a child whos been let loose in Hamleys!!!!!!!
I got the letter yesterday and i now have this permanent smile on my face! Its at Leicester in February so ive got a bit of time to prepare.
Sorry!!!! I just cant stop smiling! But...........at the same time im also quite scared because im worried that im going to mess it up??????!!!! Kev has been a huge help (thanks!
) and also i have to thank lynn, ruth, joy, clarkey and fluffy (oops i dont think ive told ria and jo-sorry ive been so excited i forgot to tell you guys!!!!), apologies to those ive left out but you have all been wonderful in supporting me and giving me fantastic advice, as well as putting up with all my negativity!!! Oh my gosh this is sounding like an Oscar speech and ive only got an interview, but it means a lot to me as its one step further than last year and one step closer to an offer (fingers crossed!)!!!!!!!!!!
Best be going to make some dinner but will be back later to add a sentence or two!

Ooops!! I meant to add a sentence or two a few days ago but there didnt seem to be anything interesting to write about! Ive just found out that theres someone else on this board who has an interview at Leicester on the same day as me!!!Yay! If the interview is extremely important then i tend to let out my nervousness by talking a lot of nonsense, really really fast!!!! I think everyone around me realises how nervous i am so they usually end up trying to calm me down, then when i come out of the interview (regardless of how it went) i end up trying to reassure everyone else!lol! Im mad i know!
I cant believe that medschoolguide was in the Guardian newspaper!lol! I didnt realise we were so famous!?! I must admit i thought the text writing was quite funny! My knowledge of text language is quite limited, this probably explains why my text messages are so long and i end up spending twice the amount compared to everyone else......reminder to myself: must learn more text langauge!
Ive only just started thinking about xmas presents today!lol!....im terrribly disorganised as you can tell!...i havent got as many people to buy for this year because a lot of friends from last year have gone to uni,etc and i havent kept in touch with them. I have my usual list of aunts, uncles, grans, cousins, godfather and godmother, as well as my parents and my friends who ive kept in contact with who are at uni and those who are still working in this town. Im running out of ideas because im not the most imaginative person when it comes to choosing presents for my relatives so i end sticking to the safe smellies, chocolates and all those things that people receive every year but dont want. Yep im definitely in the running for worst present giver of the year award!
My friends and parents are easiest to buy for because when i ask what they want or dont want they give me an honest answer. To some people it may sound odd to tell someone what you want for xmas because it is the thought that counts but in my case, it saves me a LOT of time trekking around the shops and worrying about what to get as i can just wander into a shop, pick something up that the person has suggested, pay for it, go home and wrap it, and hey presto the person gets something they like and my xmas is a lot more stress free!!!!!
I have to say for the first time this year when people have asked me what i want, i have said nothing........there really is nothing that i can think of that i would like. Youre probably reading this and thinking 'yeah right, shes such a liar'.....let me rephrase that, theres nothing i want that someone could possibly buy me! Such as a place at medical school, a job as a phlebotomist/junior doctors assistant this year, a holiday, a car.....the list is endless. Theres nothing that i could suggest for under a tenner/twenty pounds so i just said if you really want to buy me something then i wont say no to chocolate!!!! I might regret saying that once xmas is over and im feeling full/sick and cant fit into any of my clothes!!!!!!
Ahhh the joys of xmas! Im feeling much more festive this year than i was last year...not having any stress/worry(other than ucas) or exams/coursework has made me take life at a much slower pace and ive begin to appreciate the whole festive spirit. Ive seen so many houses with their decorations already up, which can get a little bit irritating....some have been there since the end of october/early novemeber. I really cant imagine still having a festive spirit if my house was decorated for months.....it must lose its novelty after a few weeks. We tend to put ours up a few days before xmas eve-that way it makes the celebration more exciting when its concentrated into a smaller period of time.
Anyways id best be off, have a driving lesson tomorrow morning....i havent had one for ages so it shall be interesting to say the least! :|
Goodnight everyone!

Had a pretty busy day today doing lots of walking and rushing around since 7am but then had a huge unhealthy fry-up dinner followed by some chips with curry sauce on my way home from the pub!....oh well a girls gotta have a treat once in a while!
My driving lesson went quite well which is a surprise!
Although i did get too close to some bushes on a country lane so i think my instructors 'brand new' focus is not so new anymore! I call them my trademark scratches....im terrible at estimating the distance from the kerb so im always too close to something-normally another car or a hedge!
I received a postcard this morning inviting me to a reunion at my college (which i left this june!!!) to collect our exam certificates...it seems so strange to be calling it a reunion when we only left 6 months ago!!???!
Im feeling very flattered that no-one has voted 'No' on my poll above??? I was worried that i would be sending you all to sleep with my non-eventful weblogs, please feel free to vote 'No' otherwise ill just keep on posting!

I think im catching a cold so i wont stay long!
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone has voted 'No' at last!!!!!!! I was getting worried when everyone was voting Yes-i promise to stop writing these weblogs if the number of 'No' votes exceeds the number of 'Yes' votes. Until then im just gonna keep on writing!!!!
Ive finally started some xmas shopping-bought a perfume for one of my friends which she absolutely adores so i dont think she'll be disappointed!
I watched Will & Grace and i dont know why but suddenly Grace just didnt seem very funny.....I hope Nathan doesnt leave the show  , and im really missing Scrubs now its finished. Does anyone know when ER comes back to channel four? If anyone knows can you please PM me, thanks!!!!
I cant believe its only 19 days until xmas eve!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!Krissy

Today my family has been discussing moving out of our current property and leaving the lovely south to move somewhere up north......Mummy likes the idea of somewhere peaceful, with lots of fresh air and stunning scenery-such as the Highlands in Scotland. So we've spent a lot of time house hunting on the internet....there are some very interesting properties and i was shocked at how much cheaper they are than where we are at present! You can barely buy an apartment here for the amount of money you could buy a huge four bed det house with acres in some parts of Scotland!!?!
I LOVE house hunting....dont know why but i always find some run down house and think 'wow i could do so much to that' and then i come to earth with a bang when i see the price!
By the way does anyone have a spare £27 million they would like to lend me?????.....................
http://www.fpdsavills.co.uk/resident...?SiteRef=35824 ..................no??????? Oh well a girl can only dream! :wink:Krissy

Still househunting, hoping to go to Scotland in the New Year to see a few properties. Thankfully i live on a hill at the moment so managed to escape most of the fog today but 1/2 mile down the road and it looked like a sea! I really do hope it snows this year, im feeling very festive so the world covered in white would be the icing on the cake for me!
Received some books i ordered from Amazon today..one of which was Across the Red Line and the other was Bedside Stories-confessions of a junior doctor. Ive started reading them both and theyre fab so far!
Other than that life is pretty much uneventful. Going to go see Love Actually over the weekend which i cant wait for-im a big fan of Notting Hill and Four Weddings & A Funeral!!
Also listening to Mad World and Love Perfusion by Madonna (off the TV advert).....theyre my two favourite tunes at the mo.
Off to check UCAS website in a mo.......i havent checked it for a while as computer was down so im hoping theres no rejection on there.......

Phew..........no rejections yet. Im hoping ill able to make a clean run through to the New Year without any unsuccessfuls on the ucas site. Have interview at Leicester in february, have to wait until january to hear from Southamton and that leaves Birmingham and Barts..........please pretty please may i have an interview???????!!!!!!!!!!! ! !
I still cant quite believe ive got a Leicester interview!!! Im quite worried but at the same time soooooo excited!!!!
I still have a huge grin on my face when i think about it!
Still loving the mad world song.........cant get enough of it! Im totally addicted to it, whenever i hear it i just stand still, close my eyes and im in paradise!...........absolute bliss.
Have a driving lesson tomorrow, still cant pass the theory test!lol! Im terribly useless, when im supposed to stop i go, then when im supposed to go i stop, when im supposed to steer left i steer right and vice versa...........yep you get my drift!lol! But im determined to pass both the theory and practical before september.....thats my challenge for this year (as well as getting a place at med school!l Oh... and running the london maratho!lol!)
Best be off, let you all know how well or (badly) my driving lesson was tomorrow......my driving is a source of humour in my family! )
