Well, another fun weekend over and done with, pretty quiet by all accounts. Had a nice Friday night, lots of talking laughing and schnuggling. Also, NATHAN BARLEY, what a funny show, got to watch it!

Saturday, I met up with a friend of mine from back home who I hadn't seen for 4 year, we went to a really swish restaurant in Notting Hill and had the most slap up boozy lunch ever, totally uncalled for but awesome all the same. Left feeling decidedly squiffy and toasty-ahh. She's going out with Dermot O'Leary. Sorry girls but he is taken and it looks serious.
then went home and watched Sky Castle Laputa by Miyazaki Hirao. Top movie.

Yesterday came down to my sisters and played with my niece most of the day, she is soo lovely!!! went for a walk round the patch with her and then fed her dinner. We then sat down to a massive plate of roast beef and watched "evil woman" (quality funny Jack Black movie)

    "hello, my friend, hello"

and then, as a piece de resistance, my brother in law unleashed "super troopers" which I had never even heard of let alone seen. Man what a funny movie. I haven't laughed so much in ages, well at least since Tuesday.

    "who wants a moustache ride?"

Now I'm just about to get in the car and go down to southampton to look at my future home for the next 5 or so years. I'll be meeting up with Clarkey, eitak84(7?) and weegie while I'm down there and maybe a few others so MSG party all the way.

When you're alone and life is making you lonely

I've been looking at all sorts of things this week concerning my application for uni.
Funding mostly. Spoke to my LEA and got them to send me through the forms etc... I was reading it last night and I got all excited when I thought that I would be eligible for having my fees paid for the course and for the full £1k Higher Education Grant as an independant student with earnings of less than £10K whilst studying. Then I realised that I probably won't be as I had already had these paid for on a previous degree. Oh well. just me being thick I suppose.
I'm so glad it is Friday, I have had a knackering week, but for no reason. I can't think back to anything that should have made me so tired, wel except Wednesday night. Tee Hee...

"Then I took him home and ate him with chips..."

I love nights out on the spur of the moment, it all came to pass, because someone else from my flat has decided that they want to move out now! He is going to move to Portugal to be with his fiance, a Doctor and make music. It's a shame really because he was actually a really nice bloke. So he's going on saturday, and we will probably have another tranch of antipodians coming in to take his and spiros' place. I like Aussies and Kiwis though, easy going and as long as they're not the "WOO! YEAH! CRAZY!" type. good fun in general.
anyway, we went out to the local for a few drinks to see him off, and a few turned to lots, got kcked out at closing, went back to the house where I left them to it and got up to far more interesting things, like life in a scotch sitting room, and getting on down with Stevie.
Blair and Esther ended up drinking vodka and listening to damian Rice until 4 o'clock!

"Downtown - no finer place, for sure"

Went ot HSBC the other day to see about their loans situation. they are happy to lend me £15k a year for 5 years. Now, I don't think I'll be needing quite that much, but it'll be nice to stick it in a high interest account and make more money off it than I have to pay back! It's an idea anyway.

Went to choir last night. It's strange, after rehearsing so hard, twice a week on all the new commisions, fantastic challenging modern music, now we are rehearsing once a week ad doing old stuff like Byrd and Des Pres. It is mind numbing and we are singing loads worse. Still, it's good to meet up with everyone and go to the pub afters... I'll miss them in October. I hope there's a good choir at southampton.
Have done so litte work again this week, I had high hopes, Tuesday I got a fair bit done after missing Monday, but after that, the lure of ebay was too strong ad I have been sucked back in. I shall enforce a self imposed ban again for a while. just until the finances recover a little.

The doctors are going out for drinks tonihgt over the road from the hossy. I'll go along with the intention of having one, and will try to et away before I spend too much becasue I am going down to Maidstone tomorrow to meet my mate Tom and spend the day in the pub. should be good.
Not sure what I'm doing on sunday, might just have to make a booty call on that one....

    "come what may...."

My tummy is arumbling, and if I'm going to go for drinks then I think something more substantial than cornflakes is necessary. Oh joy, the wonders of hospital canteen food is beckoning. Friday, I wonder what it'll be, oh yes fish and chips. Don't eat batter (celiac) so that's out.
Well, before you die wth anticipation of what I'm going to have for lunch, I'l sign off.
Chockaman, checking out. (for all you oldies out there...)

    way to go

I want to die by being crushed by a piano, as it loses its harness being winched up to a loft apartment. I will be walking along blissfully unaware, then

    CLANG!!!

Imagine the chord! That's a way to go....

    A cautionary song

there's a place your mother goeswhen everybody else is soundly sleeping
through the lights of beacon street and if you listen you can hear her weeping, she's weeping,
cause the gentlemen are calling and the snow is softly falling on her petticoats
and she's standing in the harbor and she's waiting for the sailors in the jolly boat
    see how they approach

with dirty hands and trousers torn they grapple 'til she's safe within their keeping
a gag is placed between her lips to keep her sorry tongue from any speaking,or screaming
and they row her out to packets where the sailor's sorry racket calls for maidenhead
and she's scarce above the gunwales when her clothes fall to a bundle and she's laid in bed
    on the upper deck

and so she goes from ship to ship, her ankles clasped, her arms so rudely pinioned
'til at last she's satisfied the lot of the marina's teeming minions and their opinions
and they tell her not to say a thing to cousin, kindred, kith or kin or she'll end up dead
and they throw her dirty dollars and return her to the harbour where she goes to bed
and this is how you're fed

so be kind to your mother
though she may seem an awful bother
and the next time she tries to feed you collard greens
remember what she does when you're asleep

    Domestic Goddess

Wow, haven't I been busy. I've ironed all my shirts, tidyed away my winter clothes and got my summer ones out, hoovered, changed my bedclothes, showered and done some filling in of student loans forms.

Sad thing is, I enjoyed it. God, I'm getting old...
