Two exams down and two to go! Last week I took all my anatomy exams which included a Spotter, essay paper and TFA paper. The essay and TFA papers went ok however I mucked up the spotter big time, so something tells me I will be retaking anatomy in September Tomorrow I have a two hour TFA paper on the renal and endocrine systems, so have spent most of the weekend revising for that, but to no avail. I am in one of those cant be arsed moods which is not what I need right now! It looks as though I am in for a late night tonight as I tend to get motivated to revise from about 6pm onwards.
Apart from revising nothing interesting has happened to me this weekend, in fact I have lead a boring existence for quite sometime lol!
Well enough of trying to waste time on this thing, I better motivate myself and do some work on the stupid renal system!! Bored already thnking about it

Yesterday I received a telephone call from Carter's school asking me to come down as he has fallen over in the playground and hurt his wrist. When I arrived he was upset and had an icepack around his right wrist and the teacher asked if I could have a look to judge wether or not he needed to be taken to hospital. After having a look it was clearly mishappen and swollen so I decided to take him to the local community hospital where he was X-rayed. Martin ended up leaving work early to be with us and arrived in time for the X-ray, once that had been done and handed to us to take back to the minor injury dept Martin asked if I could see if there was any damage, and finally some anatomy had actually sunk in (after looking at endless x-rays and scans) I could tell although it looked minor that he had fractured his distal radius and I was right! The nurse told me Carter has a Buckle Fracture to his right distal radius which impressed Martin lol! So now it's in plaster and he has to stay of school until Tuesday the earliest as he has to go back to hospital on monday to see the GP.
As for Monday it's going to be a big day all round as semester 3 exam results are out and I am dreading them. I really think I screwed up anatomy as the Spotter was impossible. I seriously have no idea how the other two went and have heard that 7 people have failed one exam (REN) and only 1 has failed ASN, I am preying that this is not me
Martin is now working at City Hospital sorting out ID badges. He was old off yesterday by a consultant as him and his fellow colleuge attempted to access a sterile area in order to fix a theatre door, what a pair of nan's! He has also joined the uni basketball medics team and has his first game on Sunday which should be funny as he has not exercised in years, but at least we all know CPR which may come in handy
Well I better stop writing as Lauren will be home soon taking up all my time.

I have finally broken up from uni for 4 weeks, although will be using the time to study for my next lot of exams. The past 4 weeks have been busy as there was so much coursework to do, I handed in the final essay yesterday. At least it's out of the way now which means I can concentrate on other things.
I am in a rather good mood too as I have just found out that I have been given my first choice homebase, psychiatry!!! There was only 14 places for it and I knew quite a few students who also put it as their first choice, so I am delighted I was one of the choosen few!
The kids are doing fine, I attended Carter's parents evening on Wednesday and I was told that he is brilliant at maths so much so he actually helps those in his class who struggle with it. His English is also excellent, something he definitely does not get from me and he's always putting his hand up to answer questions in class. As for Lauren, she is also doing well. She has lots of friends at nursery and still scares the older kids with her temper.
That's all my news for the time being.

Two weeks into my hols and I have hardly done any revision, there's loads to get through before my next lot of exams but I don't have any motivation.
Nothing exciting has really happened since I last wrote, our house is STILL on the market, the kids are happy and Mart's is moaning about his job as usual! Oh, I have joined a gym in Nottingham near the uni, it's really nice there and not too expensive which is a bonus! My induction was last monday and have not been back since, typical! I think I will probably go tomorrow and spend sometime in the library revising. Although I have been on our rower we won on Ebay, it's really exhausting but an excellent way to tone up and burn some calories!
I can't believe that I have only a few more weeks left at uni until I break-up. It seems like only a few months ago I was getting up at 5am in order to get to lectures for 9am at Lincoln!
Well enough time wasted on here, I better get off my backside make some coffee and revise!

The hols are nearly over and I have hardly done any revision! Oh well at least I have done some which is better than none, right?
Last weekend we had 3 viewings on our house after putting the price down by £10,000 . One woman who viewed the property told Martin that she would definitely come for a second viewing and would most likely put an offer in on it! However, she also has a house to sell so until someone offers on hers she can't do anything regarding ours . Another lady whos Dad is paying cash for her purchase made an offer on Monday, although I turned it down straight away as it was a futher £8,000 less than the asking price and considering we have just put the price down by a substantial amount kind of took the piss, although I admire her for trying the cheeky madam! So we are still stuck here waiting for a decent offer.
Yesterday, Carter had another hospital appointment regarding his asthma. The docs seemed pleased with his progress and told us to come back in another 3 months. Afterwards we went to view 3 properties in Nottingham in a quite nice area which we can actually afford. All three had aspects we liked and disliked but none of them stood out like the house we are currently living in and said 'buy me'. So to sum up, I don't mind staying put for another few months if that's what it takes.
Other than house hunting and selling not a lot has happened. I have a medics ball to attend on the 18th April which I am looking forward to and lots of revision to be getting on with. So I better go and start some for today.

I think I am doomed to stay in this horrible house with the worst neighbour in the world! She is awful beyond belief I can't even stand looking at her. She is a big trouble maker with too much time on her hands!
Today I have not managed to study so far as once again I'm in one of those 'Trudes moods'. My first exam is next monday, a three hour Clincal Laboratory exam at 9am, followed by a Neuroscience exam on Wednesday and two more the following week. My OSCE is not until the 4th June so I have plenty time to practice for that, however we also start our 3rd year preperation at the end of May until mid June. It's strange typing that as the last few years have gone SO quickly!
The kids are both well! I had to get Martin to take them out yesterday so I could have so quiet time to revise. When I was younger I could revise until the early hours with music on full blast, now I am older any noise just breaks my concentration.
Right, enough time wasting I have work to do.

2 exams down and 2 more to go followed by an OSCE on the 4th June! What can I say, Mondays exam was one of the worst I have sat to date. I was really nervous which did not help, but it was one of those papers whereby once you looked at the first 4 questions, sheer panic hit. There was a voice in my head, no I'm not mad , saying OMG get out of here you can't do this paper it's impossible! AND IT WAS! However I made myself stay for the whole 3 hour ordeal with tears in my eyes and shaking hands. I managed to answer 2 essays out of 6 rather well, missing one out completely as I had no idea, and I barely answered the remaing 3! Definitely without a shadow of a doubt will be resitting that one! Yesterday I sat the neuroscience paper, which was the one I was dreading the most and to my surprise it was such a good exam!!! I managed to answer the TFA paper well and the 6 short answer questions on Schizophrenia was a dream come true!!!! So hopefully to date I only have on to retake, however this may change when I sit my last two exams next week *gulp*.
Apart from studying and messing up exams nothing new has happened. The house is still not shifting although we do have a viewing on Friday so fingers crossed, although I'm not holding my breath.
Right, I better plod on with this revision lark.

Just had a house viewing and I think it went rather well *touch wood*. They were a young couple who said that they really liked our house and have one more to look at tomorrow then will get back to us! I really hope we finally get an offer as we so need to move!
Today I have been writing up loads of notes on purines and gout for monday's exam. I have to write three essays in two hours and I have choosen to study purines, alcohol and bone. Thanks to wikipedia and third years notes I have managed to write quite a lot, now it's a case of learning the material and hoping that the right questions come up in the exam. I still have plenty of time as my exam is not until 4:30 so effectively I still have another 3 days left.
Right I better get off here as the kids will be home soon, and I need a much deserved break.

Results came out this afternoon and I am pleased to say I can officially call myself a third year medic as I passed all my exams! So happy as I was convinced I failed one of the 20 credit modules, however turns out that grade wise, this was the best semester to date!!!! Not sure what Martin is planning for me later, as all he has heard is me moaning about having to retake! Now I can spend this summer working on my third year project and relaxing, I might also look for a job as I really need some money.
HAPPY!!!!!!
