Yay! My student loan has been approved, finally!!! Getting more then I was expecting, not sure where the extra few hundred pounds is coming from?? Oh well, I don't care, one thing sorted, yay!!!! Just need them to do my Childcare asap when September comes, however I need to call them again, as they have not included my other mortgage policies, such as life assurance and critical illness, that they said they would take into account. Oh well, stop moaning Trudes

It's been a while since I posted, where do I begin....
Firstly, turns out that I am going to receive the loan amount for the final year of a degree (hence less). The reason...Lincoln have listed the certificate as a first year, one year course, instead of a foundation year. This means that we get less money then what we would if we were on the first year of a full degree course or a foundation year! Confusing.
It was our third wedding anniversery, last Wednesday. I was spoilt, as usual, and was showered with lots of presents, flowers, champagne. It was lovely, but considering I did not have the chance to buy Martin anything, very embarassing! But I have since made up for it
Our kitchen is nearly finished!! But we have done something silly. Thursday an electrician came out to see if he could connect the new electric oven and hob (which do not have plugs, so have to connected straight to the mains). Turns out that the job would cost us in the excess of £300, of which I have not got, and the oven we got is too big!!! Apparently, the oven is made for a tall unit instead of an under unit, which means even if we got him to do the job, we would still need to buy a new oven! So, the following day we had to go out and buy a brand new single oven, which has a plug, and a gas hob! Today, someone is coming out to fit them, which is a lot cheaper then getting the house re-wired. Also, to top it off, when I phoned the store where we purchased the original oven and hob, I was rudely informed that they would not refund us, as it was over the 28 returns date and as it had been unpacked, so they would not be prepared to accept it! So, we have had to opt for Ebay, and hope that we get some of our money back! We are also going to put our old cooker on there, once we clean it up, and hope we get something for that.
Right, I will leave my boring life here. Well done to MollyMouse for passing your theory test and finally getting an interview at Lincoln!!! Best of luck!

I have finally found a cheap nursery (well as far as they go). It has only just opened and was Ofstead approved a couple of weeks ago. It is ran by my local Surestart, and is really close to my house. At present they do not accept the government vouchers, but will be doing so when the boss gives the go ahead, but they have been excellent with regards to the fees! It turns out that, Carter, can go for a full week at £100, so I asked if there was a second sibling discount, which is normally 10%, so the manager said she would get back to me, as soon as a decision was made on that. Anyway, yesterday, I received a phone call, and it turns out that they will offer me a discount of 50%!!! So, it works out that Carter and Lauren's monthly fees will be £650, and after they accept the government vouchers, even less!! I am so happy! So, it looks as though I will have to resubmit the childcare form, with a letter explaining the change.
Yesterday, I spent most of the day cleaning the house, and sorting out the kitchen cupboards, which tired me out. By the evening, I was pretty tired, and managed to get to sleep quite quickly. However, I was woken up by one of our neighbours home alarms, going off at 3am! I'm sure flippin alarms are a form of torture, as the damn thing would last about 10 mins, stop for 10, which enabled me to drift off, then would start again. So, today I am tired and in a bad mood, so be warned!
Right, I have tea to drink, and more housework to do.

I have decided to do something that I have wanted to do since aged 6, but never had the chance because my Mum messed up. I have decided to learn to play the flute!!! Ok, some of you may think it's sad, especially as I am 26 next week, but I don't care. You see, when I was at primary school, we had the option to learn to play an instrument. For ages I had been telling my Mum, 'I want to play the flute, I want to play the flute', and when I gave her the form, she told me that they were not offering that option, so I had to take up my second choice, the violin. It was not until a month later, that my Mum re-read the form and saw that I could have played the flute, did she bring it to my attention, but by then it was too late. So, today I am waiting for my new flute to arrive!! Yay!
This morning, the guy who won our oven and hob on Ebay, came and took it, so that's one less thing cluttering up my house. We have now put our old cooker on Ebay, and hoping we get a few pounds for that, I am not expecting a fortune.
Martin has a job interview next week, for a Journalist job, finally something related to his degree! Two weeks ago, he was sent a task to do, writing two articles for a specific brief. They must have liked it, and I am hoping that his job will let him have the time off to attend it.
I forgot to say, a couple of weeks ago, I did a two day (it was over two weekends) paediatric first aid course. I found it really interesting, and I am so glad I went and approached my local Surestart about it! I learned quite a lot, as well as going over some stuff I knew about, and recommend everyone do it
Right, I am going to continue watching Holby, and see if Lauren is awake.

No one told me how hard the flute is!! The high notes are easy to reach, but the low notes, well they are aa different kettle of fish. I feel as though I am going to pass out everytime I try and reach them. However, I have learned nearly all of the notes and the fingering (no jokes please) so I am progressing quite quickly considering I only started is Tuesday, and it's now Friday!
I sold my other cooker, yesterday, on Ebay for £55! That's not bad considering it's old and we never brought it. The guy is on his way down from Chesterfield to pick it up tonight. As I am having my hair cut on Saturday, I will probably use the money from that, but don't tell Martin.
It's been such a boring week, I have not really got much to say, lol.

I have got a massive hang over today! As I am getting older, I am finding drinking goes to my head so much quicker and my hang overs are getting worse. Here is a smiley summery of yesterday through to today.

My Mum is coming over in a bit, poor me! I feel so so so bad.

As usual I have been showered in loads of presents, and chocolate. Later I will be having a nice meal and a bottle of champagne, so I guess I will have another hang over tomorrow.

I have been feeling under the weather the past three days, and I have been in a state of self pity, as I do when I am ill.
I had a great day at Gullivers Kingdom, on Tuesday.I went on loads of rides, and used Carter as an excuse to go on them over and over again. Lauren was a very goo girl, and did not moan once, while Carter, on the other hand was a different kettle of fish. 'Don't like that', 'Don't want to go on that', 'Want that', was all I heard throughout the day. Nevertheless, I still had a great day and a really nice evening once the kids were in bed.
I thought I would post some up to date photo's, as my arms are aching, so typing is taking it out of me, lol!

Well, since my last post the following has occurred...
After the phone call from my LEA asking for more details, I went to the 'new nursery', Friday, to sort out the childcare form. Well, I was there for most of the day, and nothing ended up being sorted out. The reason, as they are new, they are not registered for the 3-4 year old government vouchers, and can not do so until the start of the new term in September. As the LEA, insist that parents have to take advantage of this scheme, everything was a bit of a muddle! I was also informed that the 50% fee reduction for Lauren, was only for one term, whereby it would be increased to £100 thereafter! This annoyed me, as it would be more then the other nursery I signed the kids up, and considering it's ran by Surestart, who are meant to help families with no money, I thought it was slighty out of order, especially when I was told that I would only be paying £150 per week in the first place! So, the forms were not posted.
Saturday, I had a really nice day. I went to Toys R Us, where I brought Lauren loads of nice things for her new room and cot (which I had brought from IKEA, Thursday), followed by a massive shop at Tesco. When we got back Martin sorted out the cot, while I furnished it, we were just like Colin and Justin, lol!
Sunday, nothing really happened. We spent all day vegging out in front of the tv.
Monday, I got a phone call from the nursery asking me to go down to see them in order to get these forms sorted, which should have been at the LEA by now! When I arrived, I went upstairs to discuss things with the manager, while the kids played with all the toys downstairs. We was upstairs for two hours, talking everything through, and was nearly taken for a mug! I was told that the fees were increasing come September. For Carter it would be £110 per week, while Lauren they would be 'nice' and give me a discount, so her fees would be £90, costing a total of £200! Do they really think I am slow or something!!Discount my arse! They wanted to get their £200 out of me either way, so by adding an extra £10 to Carter's fees and deducting £20 from Lauren's, it still came to the origional £200 that they came up with on Friday. I must have, mug, in big letters on my forehead. They also informed me that Carter would only start getting the vouchers, as from the second term, as they would lose a lot of money if they applied for them sooner. However, after much deliberation, we worked out a new fee, and wrote on the Childcare form that Carter would get his vouchers later in the year. I then posted the horrid form, on the walk home.
Yesterday, I checked the Student Finance site to see if there had been any changes, but nothing yet. I am hoping that everything will be ok with regards to the vouchers, because, at the end of the day, I am still saving £600 plus pounds.
Today, I have loads of housework to do, as usual, which I am not looking forward to. Lauren is having a nap, and Carter is at nursery all day. So, I better get off my arse and do stuff.
