I'm shocked at just how many people have been turning down Warwick interview. I think part of the problem is that, they give interview/offers soooo late that people have already got an alternative place by then and don't want the fuss of another long interview. Certainly late March is very late....

I know that last year, Warwick gave offers so late, a good chunk of the people who went to the selection centre even, had already got places elsewhere and accepted them, leaving them with a serious under-offering problem. They went through their waiting list of candidates and into their rejections list trying to fill spaces.... I was told that last year a huge proportion of selection centre attendees ended up getting places (something like 70%-80% of people) so if you have a selection centre place chances are looking extremely good.

For me it was just that Warwick was my last choice. Nothing against the school, but I'm a city girl and didn't really want to spend the next few years on a campus-based course and dotting about hospitals in that area of the country. Newcastle has always been my first choice, so as soon as I got it I just withdrew my application and jumped at the chance to accept!!

Haha same, been living in London (or near about) my whole life, not that up for going to Warwick. To be honest it was kind of a safe GEP option for me...but hey!

Yup, well it's not really insider information. Nothing hush hush, just information a first year I know doing Warwick GEP has been told pretty openly. To be honest, you could probs get the same info from Warwick's own admissions team!

It is - I know several people who have withdrawn - Nottingham is going to be in the same boat as they are late interviewing this year.

Well it's all good for those of us who really want to go to Warwick, that's all I can say!

I think so too. I love the look of the Warwick course and I'm hoping that the assessment centre goes well - an offer would be a dream come true. My only concern is my age (over 35!) and I'm not sure whether I'll feel out of place when most of the students are 21/22. Perhaps assessment day will put me more at ease about this... or possibly make me even more paranoid!

Well I'm 33 and married with a young family. At the open day I felt at home; and unlike some open days, there weren't any attendees in school uniform, which clearly made me feel ancient.

My other choices are 5 year ones, so Warwick is positively mature-friendly as far as I'm concerned!
