    Question Any Oldies at Warwick?

I am currently 24 and contemplating undertaking A-Levels then BMedSc (Bachelor of Medical Science) at B'ham University to apply for the GEC at Warwick & B'ham.

This is going to put me towards the starting age of 28/29. Are there many oldies on the course at the moment?

Does anyone know of Warwicks intentions towards mature students? (love 'em or hate 'em?!)

    Any info will be appreciated

All Warwick students are mature students (ie over 21) as they only run a 4 year graduate entry medicine degree. There are several students in every year in their late 30s+.
If you are going to study A levels to eventually get on a medicine degree, why are you planning on doing B MedSc first? Surely you should aim for getting 3 good Alevels and then apply for a 5 year medicine degree as it will take less time and be cheaper.

it would take less time however location and GCSE results mean that i wouldn't be able to get onto a 5 year course. Good to know there's a few older students at Warwick though. Thanks!

I know of at least one person who got into Warwick when he was 35. I have heard that there is also an over 30's club, but I don't know how active they are.

Since warwick is a gep then they are very mature student friendly.

Warwick is extremely mature friendly, and 28/29 wouldn't be considered old.

The youngest students here are 21, having just finished their first degrees. However, many people start at Warwick having had previous lives, careers etc

There is an over-30s club, but since I am under 30, I have no idea what they do. Perhaps they don headscarves, get blue rinses and sit in rocking chairs complaining about the youth of today.......

Never be put off by your age when applying to Warwick. They appear to be blind to age.

im in the same year as Mr. Simon and whilst most of the year probably fall in the under 26 category there are a considerable number of people over this i believe there is even one person who is near on 50 so if medicine is really what you want to do dont be put off by your age....

And the over 30's clubs goes mainly to nice swanky restaurants so ive been told!
