My problem with the basic sciences.

I do Medicine in Liverpool university. As some of you might know that the Liverpool course is almost entirely about Problem-Based learning, and after the first year you're mostly asked about the Clinical sciences rather than the basic ones.

I've glossed over the material required for step 1 and I'm utterly shocked that I didn't learn this stuff in the beginning of med school. Especially a lot of the immunology and microbiology.

Anyone have any tips for devising a study plan?
The world had a hierarchy before I was born and I absolutely despise it.

    Same issue at St George's.

You have to go through Kaplan review properly and listen / read Goljan. This will get you in some way up to speed and ready for step one. If you understand and memorise first aid you will be ok, but it's quite a leap from a PBL uk course. pm me if you want. All the best, mm

I found Step 1 more clinically orientated than I had expected. As mentioned, First Aid will get you through which I supplemented with USMLE World.
