    No, it's a huge mix of every kind of subject in each block. However, because the exam (unlike days of old) is now very much integrated and questions demand that you draw on several subject areas in the basic sciences, I didn't find that too distracting.

    As for blocks and time: yes, it's tight, but it depends on how fast you synthesize and integrate information. I consider myself to be a reasonably slow reader. Using commercially-available practice questions, I had around ten minutes of time left at the end of each block. On the USMLE, my time at the end of each block varied from one second to four minutes. I would read fast if you can....

    NBME? what is this mean. umm, it seems i am behined. however howcan i get NBME ( what is mean NBME though?)

    National Board of Medical Examiners - they write the USMLEs. Google it for specifics on USMLE and for purchasing retired exams.

    Slightly off topic here. Leeds medical school has just introduced formative assessments that are set by the National Board of Medical Examiners and completed online like the USMLE. I'm wondering if this is a prelude to the eventual introduction of a UK wide National Finals Examination?
