    US residencies

Ok, to make things short. I'm planning on working in the states. I'm canadian, living in europe and i'm going to study medicine in UK.

I know how difficult it can be for a foreign doctor to get a residency in the states. How important do you think my choice of university is? I want to go to nottingham, but i feel that i might be looked at higher if i go to king's. What do you think? Do you think other factors play more of a role?

I feel that nottingham is a better medical school in a better atmosphere, but americans may not know that and i know that king's has a great international reputation and nottingham is just a bleep on a map.

It's not going to make a huge difference if your intent is to practice in the U.S. Scores on the USMLEs are more important. Go to a medical school where you think you will learn best. You'll be there for a while and that it far more important than pre-empting the opinion of U.S. residency directors.
