Europe-Canada-US/USMLE

Has anyone heard of this possibility:

If you have a degree in Medicine from Germany, it can be acknowledged in Canada. Afterwards, you can work there as an intern for 1 year and then work in the US without having to have taken the USMLE.

Does anyone know if this is true?

No, it's not true. You will need Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE in this case. The only exception is for a physician who has completed a residency in Canada, and passed the Royal College exams. They often bypass the USMLE and can work in the U.S. with unrestricted privileges.
