Offers for 20010/11
Hi guys, I'm one of the med students who was around on some of the open days.
I've just noted that a few people have been on here talking about their offers for the 2010/11 academic year. I'd just thought I'd remind you all that on the whole decisions still haven't been made regarding places. This process goes on for sometime and most of you will begin to hear about offers from mid-March onwards - you will be contacted either by letter or e-mail.
This info is all on the information sheets that were given to you post-interview but I'd just thought I'd remind you as I know this is quite an anxious time for you all.
Also, just to let you know, the Admissions team cannot advise you about whether you will be made an offer over the telephone - this is mainly due to the fact that decisions haven't been made. I'd advise not phoning them to ask as they cannot tell you, and also if they have to pick up the phone every 5mins it's going to take them longer to get round to making all those offers! So just sit tight and you will be contacted eventually!
Good luck guys, and hopefully will see some of you in September!

Hi Belkins,
Thank you for taking the time to post.
I'd got it into my head that they would start making offers in the 1st week of March so I've been going nuts this week!
Good to hear from someone "on the inside" to tell us the process and that we can put the panic off for a couple of weeks.
Got everything crossed and expect I'll still be checking UCAS track A LOT but with a little less expectation!!!
Thanks

Thank you for the info!
I am desperate to hear from UEA so I let myself believe that we would be hearing from them within the first week (since some people seem so convinced that we will).
UEA is my first choice and so this waiting, and the constant "Have I got an e-mail from UEA med school/UCAS track? I must check my inbox now, just in case." circular thought is driving me slightly insane.
Fingers crossed and good luck everyone!

Thanks for the info, however I do remember the admissions lady saying that there will be a meeting
with the dean this friday regarding A100 offers for home students. So we may start hearing next week.
It's most first choice aswel, good luck all

As I understand it the offers will be mainly based on interview performance however personal statement and UKCAT score may also have some weighting.

Congratulations Mabz, that's really brilliant! Are you a home student? If you are I suppose that means the rest of us may hear soon. This waiting is pure torture!!! My thesis is suffering badly as I currently have the attention span of a 2 year old and I'm addicted to checking track. I really want an offer from UEA as I loved it there but convinced I messed up at least one station in the interview.
Applying 2010:
UEA: 5yr - Offer! (Declined)
Sheffield: 5yr - Offer! (Declined)
Barts 4yr - Offer! (FIRM)
Warwick 4yr - Offer! (Declined)
Grad applicant just about finishing a PhD
UKCAT - 732.5
