Hi guys, just wanted to say, I'm a law grad and was in your position last year and got a place - however, I applied for deferred entry so will be joining those of you who get places this year in September 2010!
Good luck!

Hello everybody,
I've also applied to UEA but received no answer yet.
They've send me an e-mail shortly after applying on the UCAS website acknowledging the application and stating that due to the large volume of applicants (about 1400) they would begin notifying those short-listed for interview from mid-December onwards so I guess so one should hear anything from them before that time...
bpr, your insight and experience on the interview process would indeed be helpful to the rest of us, if you are willing to share it, of course...
All the best,
Pedro

Hi guys,
UKCAT I got:
V 640
Q 700
A 670
D750
Total: 2760
Average: 690
Regarding the stations, the most I'll say is if you're prepared and can talk about yourself, your application, your life and your motivations you'll be fine. The UEA ones wll be useful, so is a book which is titled something like "100 medical applications questions" which I used lots.
I'd rather not give away exactly what was asked as a) I'm sure they change things each year and b) it would put you at an advantage over other people not reading this.
Best advice I can give is know your statement and your CV inside out, every time you've said "this shows I have leadership skills" or whatever, be able to talk about it, what you gained, how it developed you as a person. Generally just know yourself and know why you're applying for medicine, at uea.
You're welcome to read my blog which has some more details of my interview day I think.
Any more specific questions?

I thought UEA didn't heavily rely on the UKCAT

bpr,
Thanks for the insight provided.
Regarding UKCAT, it is a known fact that some universities rely more on its score than others and some even have a cut-off (usually the ones with a very large number of applicants). However, I'm personally convinced that unless you have other circumstances that are uncommon and make you stand out of the crowd (such as an uncommon professional, academic or scientific background) you shouldn't have less than 600 to have a realistic chance.
Mind you, that's just my opinion...
All the best to all,
Pedro
