Any hint for a european mature app to be interviewed next feb 1st

    Hi to All of you,

I am new here in this forum, my name is Youcef, european applicant suprisingly happy to have been granted interview next feb 1st 2007.

I would like to ask if someone has any hint regarding how the interview occurs for non UK nationals?

if any international and non UK mature applicant has been interviewed already I would really appreciate if you could give me some hint, either by PM or in public thread...

After 10 long years of psychological warfare I am not willing to give up at such a point of the process.

Best wishes to everyone of you hoping that your dream to become a doctor will be achieved...

    Kind regards,

    Youcef alias Uncle cotroni

i was a mature applicant, and i would have thought your interview would be the same as the rest of us because they are standardised for all students ie usual questons plus 2 scenarios. im happy to give u any info on interview format, but hints i cant do.

    here is my worry

Thanks a lot for your help,
    my main question is:
if there about 500 to 600 interviews going on, and if the interviews is as easy as it seems according to the posts in this forum, how would the interviewers make their final decision?

what is the percentage of success at the interview?
how many interviewees receive a conditional or unconditional offer?

    Thanks a lot

i didnt think it was 'easy', but for me nothing totally unexpected came up, i always think nerves make it difficult though. i dont know any stats but i know they score how u perform/answers u give at the interview and i guess the top * % of people get an offer? i think it says on their site what they look for and i believe they score u on those things eg ability to thrive in uea environment, work experience, passion for medicine etc.

    Cool

Thanks Elz for your answer, here are my question, may you would be kind enough to help me with the following questions....either in public or by pm..as you want..

did you have any question regarding NHS?
what type of scenario did you get?
did you have to share a group scenario? how did it work?
could you describe how your stations were?

Thans a lot for helping a French applicant who is very ignorant of the UK process

    Kind regards,

in answer to ur questions i can say that i personally didnt get any questions on the nhs, but i believe some other people did. what type of scenarios? umm ones in which had to make a decision about what u would do in a certain situation, ie if someone had a particular illness. -we all got given different sets of scenarios. look on the uea medschool website at their example scenarios they are much like them. there were no group scenarios, all the 7 stations are on ur own, two of which are the scenarios. some interviewers are nice, a couple are a bit awkward-but i think they make it that way to test u-devils advocate sort of thing. if you cant answer a question they tend to quickly go on to the next so u dont sit there umming and arrring wasting time. i liked the interview style because it meant u could repeat stuff to different interviewers and they wouldnt know (hehe) and you could do one station and if it didnt go to well could 'forget it' and move on to the next clean slate so to speak.
i think interviews are a bit down to luck of the draw whether u get 'easy' questions or not.
