Nurse to doctor has been done on more than one occasion. If your A levels, gcse's, degree etc.. are good I think you stand as much of a chance as any other graduate. The interview will be the key for you, why doc? why not nurse? etc.. and other bullshit questions of that nature.
All the very best!

Lots of people have done it - there are plenty of ex nurses here at UEA and I know of some at Sheffield too

I know quite a few nurses who have gone on to do med here in Canada despite the fact that the CMC (Canadian Medical Council) has openly said that they will not accept a nursing degree as a satisfactory undergrad degree for entrance to med school. I did read the same somewhere when I was applying to the UK but here, like in the UK, many are making the transition. I would say that it is almost entirely to the discretion of the uni and the best way to find out is by calling each uni individually. I can tell you that Scotland is more difficult for nurses, but I have no idea why.
