HI
are you talking about whether you will get into galway or do you mean anywhere in ireland? Providing you obtain four A's all in one year (meaning your A levels arn't sat at different sittings) You do have a good chance of getting in down south.... However! i think there is also an element of luck in CAO applications. But mainly people with 4 A's usually have a good chance!

hello, thanks for the advice.
There is only 1 thing i am worried about and thats when you said "provided you obtain all 4 A's in 1 year".
The thing is that I would have gotten all my 4 a's in 1 year its just that i sat maths a year early, meaning that i did the 2 year course in only 1 year (as i was very good at maths and so was entered for the fast track course.)
Would this disadvantage me? Because techically i did all my a levels in the 2 year course, but because i was good at maths i did the maths a year early. Surely that doesnt mean i wont be able to apply because this simply made it harder for me and meant that i am a better candidate capable of doing hard work (more so than my peers).
Thank you very much (im just so worried that this will disadvantage me when all it meant was that i did a 2 year course in only 1 year).

Well...i think you may be a different case from everybody else. What they meant by "in one sitting/year" Is that you don't do 2 Alevels one year and the next do another 2 if you understand what i mean. I actually think you have just a good a chance as anyone, I don't think the fact you did maths early should be a disadvantage to you. Don't quote me on it though! Best thing to do is phone up the universities if you are worried and just explain to them. I think you will be alright

hi i go to a college in england and am doing AS level at the moment, i will be doing 5 as level but i want to only do 3 full a levels, as AS levels usually count as 1/2 an a level, does anyone know if that means that those 2 extra as levels would count as my forth A level????

I doubt it...for the LC they only count your six best subjects so I don't think they'll count five for you (as they may see it). It's probably four max that they'll look at but before you make any decisions perhaps you should ring and ask.

Ye think it is though check the CAO site. Perhaps they accept late applications at a higher fee.
