    How do you guess?

When practicing under exam conditions, I'm finding that I can answer half of the questions correctly in the allocated time. The other half I have to guess. My current strategy is to try and get as many correct answers as possible and guess the rest. I have never had to guess answers in my uni/school exams, but when I had to it would be an educated guess, i.e. eliminating the least likely answer. So, what's the best strategy for guessing when you have absolutly no time to eliminate answers. Do you always go for a specific letter (e.g. "C") for all the unasnwered questions or do you choose letters randomly?Does a certain strategy affect your score?

    A one-letter-guess is best probability-wise.

Agreed. Now, which letter is the most probable?

Neither, the UKCAT said something like each letter will appear in equal frequency. I think it was one of the measures they took to make the test more standardised.

The rest is up to you. Just pick one letter.

Best of luck for your UKCAT.

I always selected A because it was the top and hence easiest to click, but as BW mentions, one letter guessing is best so take your pick.
    Good luck!

^ A is probably the magic letter because you got an exceptional score using it

    Thankyou I would recommend it!

EDIT: Just realised that made me look like I guessed for everything to get a good score! I guessed literally 5 questions in total! 3 of which were in DA so A's starting to look a little worse now...

So you didn't guess for the 4-choice Verbal Reasoning Questions?

Anyway, I know that everyone gets questions randomly given to them from the question bank. However A does seem like the easiest one to click on as it is right on the top. Saves those previous milliseconds heh heh.

Then again, it would be really ironic if I eliminate A before I guess. Especially if it's Decision Analysis
