Cringle- never complain about a post being that long when it's that helpful. Thankyou!
Congratulations on such a fantastic score, that's certainly going to help you out! I really hope you get yourself a place so you don't have to resit the test you've done so well on.

Hi Cringle,
How long did you revise for?
How many days/weeks and for how many hours each day?
Did you repeat some of the tests?
Thank you.

Hi Bruce,
Just a quick reply to your questions:
I probably revised for a couple of months, in increasing amounts where at the beginning I was just getting to grips with the types of questions and getting back into the swing of maths etc. to the last week or two where I was doing as much as I could - probably 2-3 hours a day, trying to do a practise test and go through the answers carefully. This is only how much I could stand though, others might be able to do more, don't knacker yourself out though! I also had the odd day off for the same reason - and for the sake of completeness in the last few days I had pretty much decided there wasn't much more I could do to improve so just tried to do a bit less to keep sharp and relax (as much as possible). This was after advice from other posts around (thanks everyone!)
I did repeat some of the tests because I read someone's post somewhere saying they thought it was a good idea, I would say though that for me it was worth it for QR because I generally couldn't remember the answers and I thought going through the motions would still be helpful anyway. I didn't find this quite as helpful with AR because I remembered the patterns quite easily from when I did it before, still helpful as a sort of revision though, and the same goes for DA and VR.
I would reiterate that this is only what I did, make sure what you do is helping you!
Thanks everyone for your kind comments, Dan27: Bigup the Lincoln applicants!
Good luck!

Congrats on the high scores so far! Just tried the QR in the kaplan book and it was a massive fail! does anyone know if it mirrors the level of difficulty in the real thing! oh and has anyone tried emedica which has lots of practice questions

I must say Emedica has some good practice. I was sceptical about paying for stuff first but my exam is on Wednesday and I'm glad I got the practice from Emedica now. I only got 2 weeks for it, but those 2 weeks was well worth it. The huge bank of QR questions mirrored a the UKCAT well but was slightly harder in parts than the one I sat in 2009.
You can never have too much practice, if you have 2 weeks and about £25 floating about I would highly recommend Emedica. Sorry I can't comment on the Kaplan book.
Good luck!

At the moment I have my heart set on London- Kings and Barts being the two I would do anything for. I'm not planning on taking the GAMSAT though if I do badly this year in my degree I may take it next year if i don't get into medicine for 2013, so potentially SGUL too.
You're part of NMM, hence chances are you'll do well in your UKCAT. Good luck!
P.S., my name's not Jack, it's Jon

No worries, I'm used to it, I get it all the time.
I'll try to remember to keep you posted. Starting to hit me that I got a mediocre score (672.5 average) in '09 from about a weeks work, now I've done 3 months work for this I'm unprepared! Message me how yours goes when you take it! We'll see each other at KCL/QMUL in September '13 then!
