When to take UKCAT + GAMSAT

Hi Guys,


So I am looking for a bit of advice on when I should take the UKCAT and the GAMSAT. I am taking both. The GAMSAT is on 21st September and I am yet to book my UKCAT. I am also yet to start preparing properly for it as I have been out of the country and Ill. Do you think that it is a good idea to try and do it before or after the GAMSAT? It seems like madness to do it at around the same time. The last test date is 5 October and UCAS has to be in on the 15th October so if I did it late then I would not have much time to think about which medical schools to sensibly apply to, but it would give me more time to prepare for it.

I have a lot of free time at the moment and a lot of job flexibility which means that I can dedicate a serious amount of time to studying for both of these exams throughout the entire week, I am also doing the full Gradmed GAMSAT prep course every weekend up until the GAMSAT so will naturally be doing a lot of preperation there.

Any advice would be much appreciated as I am not sure what is the most sensible thing to do.

I think the sooner you get them both over and done with, the better. I guess it would be like having two exams back to back - if you prepare for each one well enough in advance I don't think it would be a problem to take them in the same week. Maybe keep them a couple of days apart if you can just make sure you really do start preparing now.
For the UKCAT I highly recommend jobtestprep online they offer explanations to each question.
Anyway, the sooner you take them, the happier you will be that they are over . Where is your preferred place of study?
