I think the 600Q book gives the most exhaustive list of things to look out for that you can find! You'd have to be a mental genius to go through all the possibilities they list in that book in the given time. The main key to abstract reasoning is speed and triage -- if it looks hard, flag it and carry on and come back to it. Once you've covered all the ones you're sure about, go back to the flagged items from the review screen.

UKCAT as a few down loadable practice tests which are pretty key and the are the closest to the real thing, that you can get.

BPP also have a UKCAT book which is pretty similar to the 600 Question one, accept that to me the QR section is more realistic.

Just keep practicing - they do get easier as once you have seen a few patterns, it becomes easier to spot something similar. Look for clues in the type of shapes that are present, like if there are arrows it might be a patterns about directions, if there is a single large shape it might be a pattern based on symmetry etc. I try to concentrate on a single square and see if anything I notice about it also applies to other squares as sometimes I find I just get confused about what to look at if I don't have a focus.

    Good Luck
