How long did you study for?
After only considering sitting GAMSAT this year, I found out that Univeristies such as Warwick accept UKCAT without a Science based degree.
Now, I know of two people who have as of last year been accepted on to the 4 year course. Both of them have nowhere near as much experience as I have, but both had science based degrees. Will this have been a big factor in them getting picked?
Anyway, I'm interested, how long did you practice for?
I'm thinking of sitting the exam at the earliest opportunity as to get it out of the way, and to see how I do. That way, I can see if I should sit GAMSAT or not... In an ideal world I'd avoid it. The earliest one is in roughly 2 months, will that be enough time for most applicants?
I'm dodgy with Aptitude tests, so I'm a little anxious. In the past, I've varied massively. I've done very well in some, and very badly in others.

I think it's a really good idea to sit it early and then decide on your other options.
The UKCAT consortium published the results of a candidate survey in their annual report in which most candidates indicated that they practice for a few weeks and I think that is generally the opinion.
If you have time to go all out even a couple of weeks cramming will be enough. The UKCAT is a test where timing and exam technique is really important as it is a very time pressured exam so try to do some of your practice under timed conditions.
Best of luck with your test or tests and your application

Hello,
I would like to ask, how long (approximately) is needed to study for the UKCAT?
Thanks.
P.S: I don't want to start too early or too late!

It depends from your starting point.
If you just meed to get familiar with the lay out and question style, a week or so in more than adequate.
However, if you need to relearn your GCSE maths to get it to second nature status, that will take longer. And how long will depend on how poor your maths is.
