GEM 2011 entry

Hiya everyone. Im hoping to apply for GEM's for 2011 entry. I have a 1st in Genetics and a 677.5 (VR 700, QR 760, AR 600

DA 650) average from the UKCAT. With my low UCKAT score, and the fact that Im Irish so probably classed as an overseas student, what are my chances of getting a place? Right now, Im thinking about Oxford, Imperial, Warwick and somewhere else. I know these courses are a lot different but Im not entirely sure yet.

677.5 is not a low score.

Other than that I cant offer any advice. Perhaps take the GAMSAT as backup?

A 1st class in genetics is a good start

What's your work experience like?

Im not sure at all if I have anywhere near enough work experience. As of the end of August, I will have two days with a rheumatologist, a day with a GP, a day with a respiratory consultant, and a week with a cardiologist. Is that a lot to have?

Last year your UKCAT score was good enough for Newcastle, Leicester and Warwick GEP course so be happy. I don't know about experience, I have been a NHS HCA for 3yrs and done bits and bobs of work shadowing and volunteering, so its not that side of it that worries me
