UKCAT Scores for 2011 Entry (undergraduate)

qmul/kings (with A* at gcse)/manchester (with PS)/sheffield(with PS + ref)/peninsula/newcastle/glasgow

I would say my application is fairly strong, and the chance of an offer at Edinburgh is only 14% I think so I understand the competition.

My other choices are:

St Andrews (cut off 614.25)
Dundee (UKCAT 20% UCAS application - 30%, interview 70%) Think UCAS includes ukcat

Aberdeen (UKCAT=4% of application). Since I'm only applying to Scottish Uni's, it's between Glasgow and Edinburgh. I'll think about it but will probabaly go for Edinburgh.

Do you think the unis strictly adhere to their admissions process?

Well I would guess most of them do. They may make exceptions sometimes, depending on how good your application is and whether there are any extenuating circumstances present. We should not assume they will be flexible though simply because we don't have much other confirmed information about their admissions processes other than their published policy documents. After all, they will at least all TRY to strictly adhere to their admissions policies because that's why they have them in the first place!

With your situation, since you are applying to Scottish unis only you don't seem to have many to choose from so I think you can give Edinburgh a shot. Make sure your other choices are safe and make a perfect application

I had 545...not that I'm proud to announce that, but I just wanna say that there is definitely HOPE!!! I got had 2 med offers...I know miracle, isn't it? I only applied to 3 med unis cos I was very upset and depressed and so didn't hope to get into any med uni hence applied to 2 back ups instead of 1. So don't worry if u get low ukcat score, just be careful that u apply to the unis which don't consider ukcat as much as others.
