UKCAT average score (more broken down)
I thought I would create a more broken down version, also sorry it looks a bit odd/ complicated!

This thread is encouraging and discouraging at the same time.
Not a bad idea, anyway.

Maybe the applicants that didn't do so well are just ignoring this poll!

Yea, and the people who got over the top scores aren't afraid to hide them, huh.
Edit: Which is fair. Didn't mean to sound rude or anything.Last edited by Entropy; 16-10-2009 at 04:38 AM.

^ Smart point, I have to admit. If we applied these kind of reasoning skills in the test itself, hm...
Either way, what's done is done.
On to the next big thing...

These polls are a very silly idea. The only thing they will do is make people that are already nervous about their application feel even worse.
Almost everyone who reads these board is considering or has applied to medicine so you should all be smarter than to think that this is a reliable source of information.
You have no idea that the people posting results on these polls are being honest. You don't even know if they've ever taken the UKCAT!
The yearly average of the UKCAT is 600. It's designed to be. If this year everyone did slightly better and got 610, next year the questions would be slightly harder to get it down to 600 again.
Stop worrying. And stop these silly polls.

less than 1/3 of the people who voted on the first poll voted on this one, and i know some people didn't vote before it closed
if you give it a chance, it should turn into a normal distribution
and these shouldn't be any cause for concern, as there are plenty of other (and probably better) measures of academic ability and potential
NB with such a small sample it is really unlikely that we will get a good representation compare to the 26000 people who took the ukcat this yearApplying for 2010
