Bad UKCAT! Which 4 should i apply for from this list
GCSEs - 2 A* 5 A 3 B
A2 predicted - AAA in geography, history and economics
UKCAT score - 585
Had plenty of work experience and i think a decent personal statement.
Applying to Pre med - 6 yrs (A104) Where will i realistically be considered from these unis and where should i apply?
Sheffield, Manchester, Cardiff, Bristol, UEA, Keele, (Dundee but dont fancy going there)
appreciate it any comments!
thanks

look at The Student Room - Announcements in Forum : Medicine to see how each uni use the ukcat.
from open days/ last years scores these unis want
Sheffield 670-675
Manch600-610
the others on your list may not have cut-offs so you could balance the ukcat with your ps/ other qualifications

Hi Kop Cat.
I'm also applying for pre-med courses.
Have you managed to find out what might be an acceptable score for Manchester foundation by an chance? or Keele for that matter?
I know Sheffield are horrible for UKCAT with regard to the 5-yr programme (in the region of 675 and above). However, it may not be so high for pre-med seeing as we're not the typical science applicants, and unlikely to have done maths a-levels (i certainly didn't). That's my reasoning anyway!

phone them up- they might not have time to email you back as there's so little time left (tho I emailed Manch medical admissions and they replied within 2 hours last week). What is your UKCAT? THey had cut-off of 610(ish )for 5 year

sorry-didn't realise it was higher for 6 year. Have you thought of Southampton? they seem to take ps into account a lot. I'm applying N/C, Manch, Leeds, Southampton. Hope you are sorted out now

soton have a 6 year one don't they? I think you can apply to one other (non pre-med) just like all med applicants get one non-med option.
