Just scrapped 600 in UKCAT :(

Hey - I am in a MASSIVE dilemna - I took the ukcat on Wednesday and got a 605 average abstract reasoning really let me down and for the quantitative reasoning, I had to guess lots because the timing was sooo tight arghhh even though I bought that damn 600q book and practised!

    I am soooo gutted.

I am a Biochemistry student in my third year and now worrying where to apply, should I completely scrap applying to 4 yr courses?

Should I consider BSMS? and is Kings and Queen Mary's COMPLETELY out of the question even for the 5yr course (I was never planning to apply for the 4yr anyway) but now thats NOT going to happen lol....

I keep hearing "cut-off" rumours for Kings and Queen Mary's however I was wondering whether this is the same procedure for graduate applicants applying for the 5 yr course?

quite miserable and would appreciate any advice

    look at
Medschoolsonline - Medical Course Guide for Graduates - Graduate Entry 4-Year Courses
You could apply for 5 year if nec or apply where they don't need ukcat

I know one of the admission tutors at Queen Mary, and she was saying that they expect this years UKCAt cutof to be 675. Her advice was don't apply unless you are anyway near that. You would only be wasting a slot.

Is that also for the five year course in Queen Mary's?!

I was told 5 year cut-off was 610-615 last year but I'd phone and ask them about this year if you are worried

    Hey everyone,

First of all BARTS cut off last year was 612.5

Kings do not set a cut off score for the 5 year so if I was going to take a shot KCL would be it..but its up to you. Good Luck with your application fivefour

If you sat the GAMSAT, I would advise applying to Ireland for 2010 entry GEP/GEM courses.

    Deadline: Jan-Feb time
    Interview: Normally No
    Student Loan: Generally Yes
Student Status: UK students classified as Homestudents
Universities: RCSI (DUblin), UCD (Dublin), UCC (Cork) , UL (Limerick - same course as St Georges even has some their teachers apparently and lectures via video link up)

GAMSAT - Usually 55 and above does it.

If havent sat the GAMSAT, you can do it in March 2010 for Sep 2010 Entry.
It called GAMSAT IRELAND (TEST Centre : London)
I would apply and keep your options open, you never know.

    Hope it helps.

What the person above me posted for Queen Mary's is true.

For KCL they do expect a good UKCAT score but if you have good GCSE's (as in 9-10 A*'s) that would balance it and vice versa. However since you're a graduate I don't think you're GCSE's will be looked at for the weighting as much as you're A-levels and you're degree so I wouldn't cross KCL off.
