I would phone N/c, Liverpool and Manchester and say you are eligible for the widening participation and access schemes at other unis but your local uni does not send referrals. Do they do a reduced offer scheme for people in your situation(full ema/ parents not gone to uni etc)? if yes, do you send proof or do they just get the info from the reference? I asked and they gave straight replies. You might need to phone a few times as they are busy. If the answer is no, phone Hull and ask about GCSE Eng (they might be ok if you have certain circumstances)
It's hard deciding, I know. I will be on here tomorrow as my school have locked our applications now so I have some free time
Oh right ok i will phone them tommorwo morning as i have a free thank you for helping me out so much

no problem. wish I had found this out earlier-a bit annoyed no-one at school or in careers service knew about it -they told me to wait and resit my A2s then apply.I couldn't find details about Liverpool so not sure if they do reduced offers.

Hey concord basically i phoned up N/C they told me i have to be in the partners scheme so in one of the schools so that not ano ption now. Manchester said that there is no guarantee of a lower offer but will consider my exenuating circumstances if i get a refferal of mutual recognition from leeds. Manchester also said there is no UKCAT cut off score so is that true?

Manchester say on their website that they go thru your form and check your pers state has everything they want then interview the top 850 Ukcat scores of those that have everything -so I suppose it's not an actual cut-off as depends on your pers state first (you might have a great UKCAT score but no volunteering/ work experience etc).
Will Leeds help you with the referral or do they just do referrals for local kids?
Barts was 612.5 last year and in other posts, they say scores can go up by around 5 each year so that would be 617.5.
You have 3 good choices (Kings, Soton, Leeds?) so, if you are worried about Manch, go for the one you would like to go to (I have changed my mind 4 times but our school have locked the ucas form so it's too late to chance)

Ok thanks what are your options and i can request a refferal from leeds its not just for local kids i think and so i think its between keele and manchester i like both to be honest but i just wanna study medicine anywhere and where ever i have the best chance of an offer. i have done lots of work experience and volunteering so im not sure, and i think i would be cutting it fine with barts so thats out of the picture.
