Newcastle definitely interview more than 1000 applicants because I remember the admissions tutor saying on the open day they wanted to increase the number of people they interviewed. Up from 500 in 2002 o_O (EDIT: Don't quote me on this!)
Does anyone know how many people they interview in Sheffield compared to how many offers they make? Preferably it is similar to Birmingham where they give offers to the majority of interviewees =D

You could argue that Imperial make offers to most people the interview:
Admission to medicine at Imperial is highly competitive. We receive well over 2,000 applications for entry and interview about 650 candidates. Approximately 500 offers are made
77% are fairly good odds.2010 entry:

hii! i always reccomend this thread to people when they're talking about choices and UKCAT scored, thanks magpie7!
i got 667.5 average, and my number 1 choice of uni is manchester. do you think i should still go for it? i did so well in 3 of the sections, then i got 520 in verbal reason that brought me down :@ 780 in the abstract reasoning! and 680 and 690 in the other 2.
btw i got a B in chemistry AS :/ but i'm still predicted all As and my teacher still thinks i'll get that A. and i'm not gonna let that B stop me from applying!
ooh and last question! how do nottingham use the ukcat, do you know?

Congratulations, the.doctor!
I would definitely consider applying to Manchester if that's where you want to study. You're UKCAT score sure isn't stopping you.
And don't worry about the B in Chemistry AS! Predicitions are, to a point, more important that AS-Level grades; as many people simply don't write down their AS grades on UCAS.
As for Nottingham, I've never heard any 'UKCAT stories' from there as such. My guess would simply be they take it into account with the rest of your application, but making it by no means 'the make or break factor' as many other Universities do. (And even if they did, a 667.5 average will definitely see you through.)
Best of luck in the future!2010 entry:
