I think I have a low UKCAT score, can I have some advice?

I got a average score of 585 with my lowest score of 420 with quantitative reasoning. Is this is a realy bad score? I'm aware that this would limit my options, what should I do?

Well its definitely not a 'terrible' score, and like it says on the sheet "most candidates score between 500 and 700" so it's not going to be a shock to Universities to see a score under the 'magical' 600.

    Just choose your options wisely:
Apply to a few BMAT Universities?
Apply to Universities that don't put much weight on UKCAT (there are a few threads talking about these Universities... Leeds and Aberdeen just name 2.)
Apply to non-UKCAT Universities (Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.)

I'm sure you won't have any problem choosing 4 Universities that meet one of the three criteria above.
    2010 entry:
    University of Cambridge (Second year)

You'd be fine for HYMS as it would give you 5/10 on the UKCAT scoring (which they add to your UCAS form score which is worth 50 marks) - no reason you wouldn't get high enough for interview there if you had a red hot PS and application details. I may be biased since I'm going there next year but IMHO they have a really transparent application and grading procedure unlike a lot that I looked at last year.

Just to let you know Leuan that 585 is not bad. I got a much lower score and ended up with 3 Interviews and 2 offers. You just have to have a really good PS and good academics. Also be wise in where you apply, like avoid places like Newcastle for example or others that weigh the UKCAT heavily.

The non-UKCAT universities are Liverpool, Lancaster, Bristol, Birmingham, so you could look at those. Cardiff, Aberdeen, Leeds and Keele, as far as I know, don't use the UKCAT heavily, so again, you could look into those places. Then there are the BMAT universities; UCL, Imperial, Oxford and Cambridge.

    Best of luck.

Wow, awesome work! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the interviews from in the end?

    Please don't worry Leuan.
UKCAT isn't everything! There are many universities that will take you, including UKCAT universities!
