    Wow, that's a massive shift!

Where have they published this? Did it have any commentary with it to explain the movement? They must have really screwed up with the weighting to get it that wrong...

Indeed. The 2010 technical report gives the mean score as 2489 so 622ish per section. I don't know how anything newer can be published as the 2011 tests are still going on.

If the average goes up too much then you would have thought Pearson would lose the contract.

That was for the 2010 results, I couldn't edit the thread so I just left it as it is.

The information can be found on the link below:- http://www.ukcat.ac.uk/pdf/UKCAT%202...l%20Report.pdf

No averages come out until the end of the year (I think), so you should be able to deduce it's from 2010. And I was unable to edit the thread so I just left it as it is. The Universities vary on how they use this result to determine admissions of students.

Just bumping this with the latest data: http://www.ukcat.ac.uk/App_Media/upl...20abridged.pdf

    Mean SD
    VR 581 74
    QR 631 84
    AR 625 81
    DA 640 100

..%..........SD above the Mean -- Does this always remain the same? I presume so.
    50.0% ....0.0
    30.9% ....0.5
    15.9% ....1.0
    6.7% ......1.5
    2.3% ......2.0
    0.6% ......2.5
    0.1% ......3.0

Martigan, or anyone else, feel free to check my working, it's very much a rushed effort!

On first appearance it seems either the difficulty or average quality of the candidates reduced last year, and gives a little bit of hope to those sitting in the future as it seems the test results are not going up year on year! Hurrah!
