UKCAT score from percentage?
Hi!
First post
I just did an online practice of UKCAT questions, and was expecting a 3 digit score like everyone here has, however it gave me a percentage (88%)
What kind of score would that be in the region of?
Also, is that a reasonable level, or should i be looking to make significant improvements if I want to get a place? (obviously i know I should aim to do the very best I can, what I mean is, if I got 88% i the real test, is that a reasonable score?)
Many thanks, and sorry if I am utterly clueless!

Thanks both of you

I am intending to apply for graduate entry, and am currently on a physiology and pharmacology degree so I have plenty of time to prepare yet! (ie a couple of years) I just wanted to have a little go juts to get an idea of the test, and how hard it is, and what sort of mark I could expect... the percentage totally threw me!
you are right about the difference between doing it online and the real thing though, I think Ill be a lot more nervous on the day than I was sat with my laptop and a cup of coffee doing it for fun, its completely different when something actually hinges on the result.

The 828 thing is extremely unlikely, maybe 1 in 10,000 people would get a score like that. I have no idea about this % business because when i did the practice last year it didn't give me on, but just making the assumption that it correlates directly to your score is silly.
The UKCATs marking is a mystery as Sandeep says, and many people think it isn't just done on how many questions you get right. Sandeep was wrong to say the practice tests are easier though, the vast majority of people find the real test to be easier.
Don't read too much into this, just keep practicing and working out the best techniques for answering the different question types.Newcastle Fresher 09!
