    UKCAT Scoring.

I just spend part of this evening doing a practice UKCAT under "exam" conditions.

I'm now more than a little worried about how impossible the Verbal reasoning appears to be to complete in the time. I rushed it and only managed just over 75% of the test in the time.

I also don't have a clue how its scored. I have heard pet theories that Min in 300 max is 900 and getting 50% correct equates to a score of 600. But that just doesn't feel right.

On one of the tutor sites I saw this:-

This suggests to me that most people do only a fraction of the verbal reasoning section, Which gives me some hope. But does this seem realistic to those who have sat the test?

Also, does any one have a real clue to how marks in these sections relate to the scores?

I don't have a clue how they mark it but when I sat mine I just about finished the verbal reasoning and decision analysis, but was far from finishing the quantitative and abstract reasoning sections (so the opposite of that rather bizarre looking graph?!). I remember thinking that the practise test was harder than the real thing but I may have just got lucky. Either way its likely that any section you struggle with others will find it hard too.

[QUOTE=Piaf;683368]In truth, no one knows for sure how the UKCAT is marked because (i) it is a closely kept secret and (ii) it is probably very complicated. It makes no sense for everyone to have at least 300. You might as well score from 0 to 600 instead of 300 to 900.QUOTE]

Sorry piaf but this is in fact the way it is marked.
Aberdeen first year, it's bloody awesome up here.
