blind panic
hi there
is it just me or is the ukcat the worst thing since rolf haris was introduced to the wobble board?
do people actually manage to finish the bloody thing? at the moment i am only answering about 30% of the maths quetions in the time allowed. am i missing the point or just need to keep practicing? anyone got any tips?
also has anyone done any of the preparation courses? if so did you think it was helpful or just a big waste of money?
cheers

Because its an entry requirement. i.e. not optional.

The example maths section on the UKCAT website is (well, was last year) absurdly difficult - much harder than the real exam will be. Have a look at some of the questions in books for a better idea of what you need to be able to do.
1st BSc Hons, UKCAT 790, GAMSAT 65
Kings GEP: Interviewed - Rejected
George's GEP: Interviewed - Rejected
Nottingham GEP: Interviewed - Offer (Cond. 2:2) - Insurance
Newcastle GEP: Interviewed - Offer (Cond. 2:1) - Firm

i'm no maths genius and I did fine on it! So did most people I know. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Familiarise yourself with the question style. I only have a GCSE level maths and I was fine!

Don't stress yourself out, I never managed to finish the UKCAT when i did it. If you think a question is going to take too long to do, just skip it and go on to the next one.

Don't worry about not having time to finish all of the questions. The whole point of the exam is to put you under impossible time constraints and see how you handle the pressure. I got a good score on the UKCAT and i had to guess about 30% of the QR questions and a couple of the AR questions because i ran out of time.
VERY few people are able to answer all of the questions in the allotted time.Newcastle Fresher 09!
