I had some good advice, which was do it in the summer. Thus if you get a poor mark, you still have time to switch your options to uni's which don't use UKCAT.
2010 Applications
Cambridge-Wolfson (GEP) Rejected without interview 12/11
KCL (GEP) Waitlisted for Interview. Unsucessful.
Southampton (GEP) Rejected 15/03/10
St George's (GEP) Interviewed, Rejected 04/02/09
UKCAT :- 760 (VR 770, QR 880, AR 690, DA 700)
GAMSAT :- 64 (Sec I: 65, Sec II: 59, Sec III: 67)
Degree :- 1st - Accounting & Finance

Martigan is correct,
So if it is a complete washout, you will have the maximum amount of time to let it sink in and consider your options.
Plus, you can add it, with all the marks for the subsections, to your UCAS form when you come to do it. Will look very organised to the med school selectors.
Might help give you that 'edge' ...

I don't think that's a good idea.
However I would agree with the others to do it in summer just to get it over with and so you can stop worrying about if you will get a good enough score. You can't cram for it, only do general preparation, so just give yourself enough time to relax after you finish school and then take it.

Yep i think most of the people are right, you should do the Ukcat in the summer, however looking at your choices it seems all are ukcat based....so therefore i think you should give yourself enough time to prepare for the test and potentially achieve a better mark.

Definitely sit it earlier rather than later. If you bomb it then you can book yourself to sit the GAMSAT and switch your choices appropriately.
If you cain the arse out of it then you can save yourself money by not sitting the GAMSAT and will have plenty of time to work on the other parts of your application.
Regarding the putting the score on the UCAS application discussion, i put mine on there under "further tests" or something like that including subsection scores and it didn't do me any harm. I agree that it makes you appear a bit more organised, though whether it will give you an edge is debatable, i just did it more out of courtesy.
Edit: To the original poster, why do you only have 3 medical schools down to apply to in your sig and one back up? You can apply to 4 meds and a back up if you want to.Last edited by hoonosewot88; 02-06-2009 at 01:34 AM.

Hey,
Just to state for the record, that the 'edge' comment was just a joke, and I didn't really mean anything by it.
A throwaway comment, if you will.
