Which book for UKCAT 2009? (2010 entry)

I've managed to find 3 and would like some recommendations from users on here on which is the best one.

    1) Succeeding in the 2009 UK Clinical Aptitude Test
Succeeding in the 2009 UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT): Matt Green, Jemini Jethwa: Amazon.co.uk: Books

    2) How to Pass the UKCAT: Unbeatable Practice for Success in the 2009 United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test
How to Pass the UKCAT: Unbeatable Practice for Success in the 2009 United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test: Amazon.co.uk: Mike Bryon, Jim Clayden: Books

    3) Passing the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) and BMAT 2009
Passing the UK Clinical Aptitude Test UKCAT and BMAT 2009 Student Guides to University Entrance: Felicity Taylor: Amazon.co.uk: Rosalie Hutton, Glenn Hutton: Books

I won't be sitting the BMAT so maybe won't go for (3). Thank you in advance.

hi ive got all 3 but only worked through the 3rd one on your list at the moment.

Got to say the verbal reasoning section is shocking full of numerous mistakes and errors.

So im trying How to pass one next - ill let you know what I think for what its worth but this one gets the best reviews out of the 3.

    Hey,

I've got the Passing the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) and BMAT 2009 book sat in front of me and although the explanations are somewhat unclear some of the time the general structure is ok as a rough guide.

What i have found useful is the introductory chapters which give information on your applications, the process, PS, interviews etc.

i used the 2007 edition of the 3rd book this year, and although there are some mistakes in it, but i think it explains the technique you should use for the abstract section quite well, and theres plent AR practice in there.

I used a website more than anything else. you had to pay a small subscription of about £30 but it lasted months and kept track of your progress. another benefit is that you are taking tests in the same format as the actual exam. I also had a book which i read through. i believe it was the 2008 version of 3).

    Good luck.

The UKCAT official website will also post some practise questions, I found those helpful because they are also timed and in exactly the same format as the actual exam.
I used Passing the UKCAT and BMAT 2008 edition and I did OK in the UKCAT, except for the abstract section - never really got all the pictures.
I didn't do the BMAT, but friends who did said it wasn't easy. And comparatively, they did better on the UKCAT than on the BMAT. So good job only a few unis use BMAT!
Best advice I can give is, yes UKCAT is important, but don't prioritise practise for that over A Level stuff.

I think this is actually 600 questions including the mock exam (not plus the mock exam). But even so, that makes it have about 3 more times more practice than any other book. At £10.99 you can't really go wrong. The advert on NMM redirects to the ISC Medical website, but those who prefer can also get it from Amazon on preorder at Get into Medical School - 600 UKCAT Practice Questions. Includes Full Mock Exam, comprehensive tips, techniques and explanations. Olivier Picard, Laetitia Tighlit, Sami Tighlit, David Phillips.

    Hey guys,

I have got my UKCAT at the beginning of July, and I heard that UPO was the best for practise questions. I went on the UKCAT website too but theres not so many on there. I also have 2 practise books that I bought from apply2medicine.com, but I am convinced there are mistakes in the verbal reasoning section as they contradict themselves throughout the answer section. Has any one else found this?

Let me know what you think and what you guys are using to revise too!
