is DA just like on the practice test?

on the real test is it just the same as the practice test on the ukcat website? ie, list of codes and numbers like A (1) 103 4, and you have to tell what it means? Or are there more "decision analysis" things. Because I was just doing a mock paper and in it there were other types of DA questions along with the kind on the site, like translating a code of 15 letters where each letter translates to another letter.

No, just tends to be a line of numbers and letters that you have to decipher from the table. However, towards the end you get the opposite - you may be asked to put the sentence in to code instead and/or they may give you sentences and then ask you which words from the sentences would benefit the code table the most.

It is near enough the same. Just that the numbers and letters obviously don't code for the same words in the real exam. But the style of questions are the same x

k, and on the actual test, do you have enough time to jot down the translation of each code in short hand?

like: pers, opp, happy

or would that waste too much time?

If you have time to do that on the practice test, then the same will be true on the actual test. Personally, I only jotted down translations for longer code sequences and did the shorter ones in my head. Spent around the same time on practice and actual tests.

Abstract and Decision Analysis on the practice are really very close approximations of what they're actually like. Quantitative practice is far removed from the truth (practice test is a hundred times harder).

Try to only jot down notes on the longer ones and ONLY if you have time. Make sure you keep one eye on the top right corner of the screen at all times!

Verbal is pretty similar to the practise test in my opinion. Maybe a little easier because there are more short passages, but some of the questions themselves are a bit harder. Don't worry about it, seriously! x

The practice tests are evil! Just don't worry about it, cause then you just get more and more stressed. x
