Hi
i was wondering if someone could please explain one of the maths questions on the medicas UKCAT practice test cos im really struggling to understand.
The question says that a brother puts $5000 into account a and the sister puts $2500 into account b. On the y axis of the graph it says % interest for a $5000 investment and then has a line graph showing how much interest each account got over 6 years.
The question asks how much more the brother got over the sister, so i thought that you would need to divide the interest on account b by 2 (as the sister only put half of $5000 in) and take that away from the brothers interest, but they said you just take it away straight without dividing it.
Can someone clarify to me this is what you are meant to do cos im scared about just blindly believing their answer and making a mistake on my real thing.
