Well as far as I know, only four universities use the BMAT: Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial and UCL. As to difficulty, have no idea as I haven't sat either yet! But from my practice, I would say BMAT seems easier as you can revise for at least part of it- the gcse level sciences and maths. There is an essay section that is quite important to get the technique right for.

The average UKCAT score lies between 500-700. Some universities like Barts, Soton, King's have cut off scores, with the usual being 600, but I think King's has a higher score of 700.

Yes, you get your results on the day you sit the test. Bristol doesn't require either, but that's all I know of, I'm sure there are a few more!

Good luck.

Liverpool, Bristol and Birmingham do not require UKCAT

Birmingham differeniate people by how many GCSE's you have as they dont really look at your personal statement or reference, i hear Bristol do as well but i have not been there to verify.

Also i have heard on this webste that apparently Liverpool put a lot of emphasis on the Personal statement and reference

Thanks but i have done 8 standard grades and am doing five highers, so how will the unis then differentiate scottish students if they dont look at ps and reference? Plus do you know of anyone who has got into birmingham uni from scotland and with what grades?
