I don't think people will be very happy if they're taking out sections of the UKCAT again like last year. I'm pretty sure they're going to make sure everything is fine this year.

as tradition
Verbal 660
Quant 740
Abstract 700
Decision 620

Total 2720
Av. 680

I'm not so sure about that. Is it me or do they get pixies to mark these things. I think there's something seriously wrong with the DA marking.

My score,

VA - 670
QR - 770 (How did this happen)
AR - 580 (Reasonable)
DA - 400 (WTF! Happened here. I mean seriously)

I think people get too hung up on the idea that the UKCAT marks are based on whether answers are right or wrong. Obviously i dont know but i get the distinct impression that the UKCATs marking system covers far mroe than just right or wrong answers. I reckon it takes into account whether you answered ALL the questions, how quickly you answered certain ones, whether you skipped certain ones etc.
It seems to vary far too wildly and unexpectedly for it to be a straight up test. Plus they have never revealed how it is marked, suggesting that doing so would ruin an element of the test.

I totally agree
I also think there is skewing involved based on how well either you are expected to do or compared to everyone else. For example a lot of people think they have buggered up QR in partic (me inc) and are surprised to have a higher mark than expected, then there are some you thought you did so well at and didnt....therefore I think there is a big element of not just a % YOU got right but how that compares to everyone else.

I did bad:

Verbal: 540
Quantitative: 540
Abstract: 610
Decision Analysis: 520.

I only did the first 20 or so questions of quantitative and in a lot of them had to click random ones towards the end. What unis can I aim to get in with with those results??

Yes, someone has to. I doubt they'd post it on somewhere like here if they did, though, so it's a bit of an unfair representation.

Qreold, i think with that score GAMSAT would be a better bet. However if you insist on UKCAT unis then places like dundee and manchester don't place as much emphasis on (to my knowledge). There are others who dont use it much but i don't know them all. You will want to avoid places that use it strongly like Kings, Newcastle, Warwick, Barts etc
