hey, first of you gotta calm down. coz time is such a big issue, wat i did for mine was jus guess for all the questions tht involved loads of reading, especially for the maths section. so i just guessed and selected for review, coz in the end it might be a waste of time to read a long passage and then find out that u cant answer the question. for DA i only wrote down the questions tht had really long codes, some say it wastes time, but i did it merely because i have a short memory especially when im in a panic. but i did manage to finish all the questions, though i guessed for half of them. cnt think of anything more, but there's loads more threads giving advice.

all the best

Any website for training maybe?

go on to assesmentday.co.uk might find that useful or do some training - I will be doing it soon as well do let me know how it goes. I wish you the best of luck!! You'll do great Just practice on doing everything quickly is something that is advised very often here on NMM.

Have you got any websites you could advise me to go onto for exercise purposes?

Good Luck!!

Calm down. Nerves and worrying about the clock are your biggest enemies.

When you are in the test, stay focused on the material, try not panic about the time - this is just a distraction. If you find a question that stumps you, DON'T tie yourself up in knots trying to make sense of it, mark it for review and move on. Then when you get to the end of the section you can click the button that allows you to revisit questions you have marked for review. Go back to it then, and guess the answer if necessary.

Relax and try and stay focused on the material in front of you. Try and forget everything else, including why you are doing the UKCAT.

Good luck, you will be fine if you keep cool.

A2M? Whats that? I'm applying for 2009 entry medicine and am currently doing my alevels if that has anything to do with it lol

The thing is on the website it said that they dont endorse any books and that you cant prepare yourself for the exam, i thought it would be a breeze but totally underestimated it and now Im soo scared!!!!

having alot of trouble with the QR theres never enough time, are you supposed to have enough time to answer all the questions or does everyone struggle with it??

thanks soo much for all your advice its been so helpful!

hey, sorry for the late reply. literally just got back from my ukcat- was not as hard as i thought it was! i think its how quickly you do it which matters because i took the verbal reasoning slowly and steadily and answered everything carefully within the time and ran out of time with the quantatitve section and ended up having to guess everything and scored higher on that!

anyways lol a great website, the one which helped the most is medicmix.com it has lots of great help on the ukcat AND biology and chemistry its reeaaally really good!

I got:

Verbal- 540 =(
Quantative- 720
Abstract- 700
Decision- 850

Dont worry about it, the worst thing about it is the stress and worrying before hand but its nothing to be scared of.

Good luck!!

When you say that you guessed on the quantative sect. do you litrerally mean that you were just checking which answer seemed most sensible and clicked away???

Nice to hear you did well.

my ukcat is in 1 day. i'm freaking out like hell!!! I suck at QR and I know I'm gonna have to guess for so many questions.

you did really well rime1991! well done.

I'll be so happy if I got the same scores are you.

really hope that my guessing will be effective as other people.
I've read quite a few posts where they guessed their scores to 650s
which is more than I bargained for.

Good luck to everyone who's about to do the UKCAT!
