UKCAT Veterans

This is a question for anyone who has done the UKCAT more than once.

As I posted in another thread I am planning to apply for a course transfer into Medicine after a year of medical Biochemsitry, and as such I've been told to resit the UKCAT for this cycle. Last year I got results i was very pleased with.

Verbal Reasoning: 780
Quantiative Reasoning: 660
Abstract Reasoning: 750
Decision Analysis: 790
Non-cognitive Analysis: "Compared to the responses of other people, your responses suggest that you appear to balance being self-suficient, discreet and happy to make your own decisions with being socially and emotionally engaged and outgoing."

I've been doing practice at college since the A-level exams finished, however practice with the verbal reasoning section has not gone very well - I practiced 24 questions and got only 8 right and this has made me a bit nervous. hough I have heard people say the VR questions in the book are very nasty compared to standard questions.

My question is that when people have done the test a 2nd or 3rd time have they found their scores got better, stayed about the same or got worse? Basically how retakes of the exam compared to their original takes.

I re-took the UKCAT as i failed to get a place with deferred entry.
I did so much worse the second time, but still got a place at peninsula and i hardly changed my application at all.

I'm sure if you do some preparation you will do better the second time, i actually missed an appointment because i forgot all about it and so hardly prepared at all the second time.

I'm afraid i cant remember my score either time and cant look it up from in bali
I know that i got about average the first time and under average the second, so it wasnt that great for either.

Nah i wasnt at the open day, ive only been down when i had my interview, (which isnt too bad, just learn about ethical scenarios)

I'm going to plymouth which is great for me. Hoping to learn to surf whilst im down there (if i have time).

Good luck with your application.
