the score is based solely on how you do relative to others
if the Qs are tough then, 10 may be a great mark
if they aren't, not so much

as i've said to others (I think), UKCAT ain't a test you can do much for - all you need is your brain really, and they even give you a calculator

just go there and do your best (pointless "advice", mais c'est vrai)

Just a quick question - if the scores are based on how you do relative to others - how come they give you your score when you leave? If you've done the test in July then the others haven't even sat it yet.

the score is based on Qs right i guess (cause i don't know for sure, but must be)

whether it's a good score depends on how others have done

They give you 22 minutes for each section is that right?

If pearson vue takes out the non-cognitive analysis section (5th one) when they send your scores to universities why do they bother including it?
don't think they're meant to take out a section - twas a mistake last year

Still don't you think it's hard to say if someone is compatible for a career in medicine or dentistry based on a test you do on computer with all that anxiety and adrenalin flowing inside you? I mean I am aware that different people have different opinions on this but I personally think it's all too early to include a section like that.

By the way congratulations on your offers for Imperial and Kings agneishd.
i think it's an awful way to decide really, just a one-off performance can mean so much - not always accurate too, many got a bad deal out of these tests

thx, i was a lucky one!

As agneishd said before as well, the results from the UKcat have yet to be analysed to really mean whether certain scores make better med students, so some universities dont conisder them at all, and most would judge you too harshly on your score i believe.

last year they discounted the abstract reasoning as well as the 5th section! (gutting for me as that was my highest!!).
As they said sometime along the lines of it not being a good measure or something or other =S can't really remember!
Just hope that it won't be the case again this year
