I said I thought the BMAT should be used by all med schools, but If oxford and cambridge want to set their own harder tests, that is fine. Every uni is entitled to its own selection policies.

I have this personal belief that the UKCAT discriminates against a certain kind of intelligence and personality that have historically played great roles in medicine. I worry what the average doctor may be like 30 years on from (the hopefully unlikely event of) using UKCAT as the strict gold standard of getting into medicine.

I agree with all that. BMAT for all school leavers, GAMSAT for all grads.

I cant help thinking that after every sitting of the Graduate British Medical School Admissions Test there would be complaints, results invalidated, public enquiries, court battles and one big shambles.
