what would you say the average is at your school just outta interest??

me and another girl are the only ones who have taken the ukcat at my school so far, and she got 2660, and I got 2540, so I'd love to know how we compare to other schools etc??

I'd say the average is about what you got, or so. We have about 15-20 medics, and only i think 4 of us got over 700, a fair few got under 600, and most in the 600s.

So like i say thats a very clever set which if past performance is anything to go by will do well... anyone getting over 600 should be happy really if you ask me, although of course the more the merrier.

I think with a lot of these things eg a level grades, ukcat scores, its a matter of getting over a certain rough level to show your capability, but then any increase above the thresholds isnt so important; its better to get over the thresholds in most areas of your person than to excel in a few but not really have much to say in others.

ofc that varies from school to school. soton is very "roundedness" focused, wheras places like emmanuel at cambridge [where i'm applying] seem to be veyr much inf avour of the intellectual.

    i'm rambling :#)

I got 2920 overall, average 730 [I think... I wouldn't trust my maths!] and highest score 850 in verbal reasoning, the one I was most worried about! Decision analysis, the one I thought I was good at, was my lowest score. Strange how it works out!

i got 695, does anyone know whether this is good enough to apply for the four year kings course. cos i know they will have a cut off point but even they don't know what it will be. i'm just in a dilemma over whether to go for the five year course or the four year one, since the five year one has no cut off point. anyone got any advice please!!! thanks

I've just gotten home from Glasgow where I was taking the test, and I'm delighted!

    Verbal Reasoning: 640
    Quantitative Reasoning: 650
    Abstract Reasoning: 720
    Decision Analysis: 760
    Average: 692.5

    So happy with that!

Oh, and does anyone know what score gets put into your UCAS application? Is it the average or the total?

The great about King's medicine is that if you apply for the four-year and don't get in, they'll still consider you for the four-year course, so basically you're applying to two programs at one school.

Hi i sat my ukcat today and got the following results:

    vr: 570
    qr:760
    ar:690
    da:660

I dont know whether to be disappointed or happy with these results. Does anybody know if they are good enough for any of the scottish universities?

In relation to others are my results ok or poor?

any help would be appreciated. ty
