Abstract Reasoning
My brain just doesn't think that way
this section will be my downfall come monday

I'd say B
The set all has : 4 straight lines placed at random
1 large white sqaure
1 white rectangle veritcal
1 black rectange vertical
1 small black box
D only has 2 lines {X}
C has no black rectangle vertical {X}
A has no white rectangle vertical {X}
Therefore B must be the answer"I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." Twain

Ok thanks!! I see it now, was getting too concerned with the position of the objects. That does make perfect sense though.
Best of luck on monday, you got this question fine!

I borrowed some materials and sat down with my buddy and finally it sank in, after last years terrible result...
1. don't look at the test shape
2. compare the 2 sets and look for differences -
shape (circle, square, straight, curvy), colour (black/white top or bottom), arrangement (horizontal/vertical or corners), number, size (one big one small)...
3. now check the test shape to see if it matches
so, you may find all of set A have 3 shapes and set B have 2 shapes... or set A have straight sides and set B have curvy sides...
also, once you have found the difference, this applies to next 3/4 questions so, you only have to study the differences every 3/4 sets and can go quickly through the rest...
good luck!

Thats a relief cos it took me more than 30 seconds to see it! And your UKCAT results were great - 680 average is well above cut off isnt it?

Most of the questions on the abstract reasoning weren't as bad as that example, but I found some worse tbh :-/

The personality test was a relief to get to as there's no time pressure. About 85(??) questions but they're all just how much you agree with statements like "I enjoy being the centre of attention" Strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree.
Nearer the end it all gets a bit crazy as you are presented with scenarios. For example, in mine, I had a passage about a dying cancer patient and her husband. He hasnt got enough money to pay for a drug that will definitely cure her cancer, but has accress to the banks accounts at his work place as he is a trusted employee. Should he steal to save her life and risk going to jail and losing his reputation?
Pretty deep stuff and there is a warning that the scenarios may make you feel uncomfortable."I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." Twain
