How many times can u sit the ukcat?
Im going to be a mature student when i apply for medicine this september, i went to a talk this week for grads entering medicine, and one of the speakers was talking about ukcat, i then went and asked him a question afterwards asking how many times i could sit the UKCAT prior to applying.
He didnt give me a definate answer, but basically implied i can take it as many times as i want to during the summer so far as money is not a problem and that there is a required time gap between each test...
is this true...?
i asked another friend of mine, who said that wouldn't be impossible..cos then everyone would be retaking the ukcat like 5 times during the summer.. which does sound very true..
im sorry if this can be answered from the ukcat site..but ive been on the site..and its not very helpful.
So can any past ukcat takers know the answer to this qu???

I'm 99% sure I saw something that said you can only take the UKCAT once each year, and that if you take it more than that the first result would be the valid one.

the UKCAT website re-opens on March 19th - and yes, you can only have 1 result, the first one in a year...
if I have to take it again, I am sure I can improve - so this means that they are likely to change it this year :-(
but then, not many med schools actually used the score to make their decision this year, I am sure that will change this year...
in one of the threads, I saw that Barts had already published a min UKCAT score for this year, somewhere in between ave. 600 and 2400 overall

I'm pretty sure you have to retake it every time you reapply, with no limit. It shouldn't be a problem (apart from a complete PITA to do and a sizeable chunk of money). The only thing one is restricted by is how many times one can realistically apply to medschool.

will be applying for 2008. What is a good way to answer 'what did u learn from your care and how did this help u decide if medicine is the right choice?'

Is the ukcat as hard as the BMAt??
If it is im buggered because when I tried out sum BMAt practise q's my mind when blank and i got a head ache after about 5 mins! (especially numerical q's). .....then when i eventually feel sure that ive picked the right answer it turns out wrong
Well, practise makes perfect i hope :$2nd Year GKT Medic
