UKCAT blunder #10231: unis havent received my results...

hey all,
got home to find a letter from Manchester - hoping it to be an interview letter, instead it was a rejection because 'i hadnt taken the UKCAT test'. Fortunately, I have a chance to 'plead my case' and write back saying 'WAIT I HAVE DONE IT, ITS UK ****ING CAT THAT HAVE GOT IT WRONG,' but nonetheless the damage has been done as my application is just idle atm until this is sorted out.

This is now...actually taking the piss. First I pay £60 odd quid to sit this, then I get my results about 2 weeks late which was also very close to the UCAS deadline, and now this which is looking to be far more serious as half the unis ive applied to use the UKCAT.

It has effectively hindered my chances and im just lost for words...
*sigh* any1 else in my position or can offer any advice? Obviously ill be contact the relevant unis asap but what kind of action can i take against 'no words strong enough to express this' organisation.

Oh no, thats terrible! Stupid UKCAT!!! You shouldn't have to suffer because UKCAT don't know how to do anything!

Can I just ask, did you put you had taken UKCAT on your UCAS? I heard Manchester had emailed some people who hadn't to check if they'd taken it or not.

I hope you manage to sort out UKCAT's mistake, not that you should have to! I hope for next year's applicants UKCAT manage to sort themselves out.

have u got the certificate that they give you after uv done the ukcat? cos that proves uv done the test.

shit those dumbasses at ukcat really messed up! or could have been mancester who failed to match your records together or something.

I didn't think you had to write on your UCAS form whether you had done the UKCAT. I thought UKCAT just told the universities.

no i didnt include the test scores or averages on my form.

im sending pretty much everything UKCAT related over to Manc, e.g. the certificate Krishna mentions, the receipt and the score sheet i got by email.

i really shouldnt be having to do this..

I didn't put it down either and no-one has called me up about it. however Glasgow do want a print out of the score report when you go for an interview. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Anyway I agree. UKCAT is a stupid idea thought up by stupid people to make money ( Pearson VUE ) and this is just another mistake on their part.

Hmmmmm, i have also been rejected from mancs, i can only hope this is what has happened to me, might mean there is some hope for me.... but knowing my luck theyve probebly just streight off rejected me

I still dont have feedback on their decision yet u see. Ive been wating for ages for it too......

I got a phonecall tday from Manchester saying my applications been renewed and is now being considered! I think they received my letter today which had all the papers etc, or maybe they got it themselves..dunno, but at least its over and I never have to hear the thing 'UKCAT' ever again.

i hope ppl who have had the same prob get it sorted as quickly as i luckily managed to.
