When are you taking UKCAT?

Hey, my 1st post!

When is everyone taking it? I've got mine on Tue 11th July, the first date available where I live! Is it like this everywhere, or are some of you taking it in June?

I'm tempted to buy that UKCAT book off Amazon, but it says despatch in 4-6 weeks so I doubt I'd get it in time. I bet its useless anyway!

UKcat have said they don't endorse anything you can buy to 'help' you pass. I really think a book would be a waste of money. Especially when the questions in the test seem absolutely self explanitory.

I wanted to do mine in June and there are available dates in June where I live, however I need to wait to get a busary (lucky poor EMA student that I am)...

On the website it says you dont get the results till 2 months after your exam. So if you do the exam earlier and do badly, you'll get the results before sept/oct and can reduce the number of ukcat unis you apply to (ie appl to bristol/birm/liverpoool). Plus you get a whopping £5 discount!!!

Only that you get a fiver off the cost if you book it before June 23rd and take it before July 31st. Other than that I would think it's more of an advantage to book it for a later date so that you can get an idea of what it's like from everyone that's already done it

Got mine booked July 13th soonest I could... would rather get it out of the way, one more thing ticked off.

Really? Seeing as UKCAT Testing begins officially on July 11th, how is that possible?

Just checked the site as I thought that too, and yup, it clearly states that testing begins on 11th July.

What exactly does critical thinking involve? What sorts of questions do you get asked? I'm sure it wasn't around when I did my A levels. Is it worth getting a book in preparation for the UKCAT?
