If you like, if thats the way you interpret it.

But whatever, i might as well say it wasnt meant to be hostile even if you dont believe it but you yourself also sound hostile too sometimes. Lets not make and argument about it. Sorry for any upset caused.

Got mine on the 27th of July. I am attending a KAPLAN course on the 2nd of July in London. Kaplan do all the preparations in the US for MCATS and DATS and so I thought I might as well try that. I also got the AS critical thinking skills book and will start studying that after the KAPLAN course.

I think there are ways to prepare for it....learning the format of the exam, the type of questions they will ask....

Good luck everyone

i heard news that people are getting annoyed with the UKCAT already that there are plans to scrap it completely pretty soon.

ha

well the unis wont really care too much about it tbh, as strange as that sounds. Theyve already molded a set-up for applicants.....and for some unis this will be a bit of a pain in the arse for them. (but def not for others with all the aplicants they get :P) I think for our year and for the first year, they will be interested in the results but Work exp etc will outweigh in importance...the BMATwill be different tho, the results DO matter, trust me, i'd know lol :P

We got told at BSMS open day today that the unis won't recieve applicants' UKCAT scores till November and most of them start their interviews around then so we were asked to 'draw our own conclusions' about how (if?) they will be used for the first year. One thing they said that really made sense was that the introduction of the UKCAT would probably reduce the total number of applicants i.e. help to filter out those applicants that probably wouldn't have got a place anyway (the ones who didn't do their research and therefore had never heard of the UKCAT test or the ones who would rather apply for biomedical sciences than pay £60 to do a test).

Totally agree with Racheljane.

I think that a whole load of people who may of clogged up the application process with a speculative shot at getting onto a med course will now be dissuaded from trying to as they can't be bothered with the effort to go to a test centre, or more likely won't shell out £60.

Heres hoping,

Jason.
