There is some possibility of transfer, AFAIK, in extenuating circumstances, though a lot of medical schools have 'integrated' courses making it difficult to move from one to the other. Notable exception is Oxbridge/London, where if you're at Oxbridge, you can apply to the 'clinical phase' (last 3 years) in Oxford, Cambridge or London (Imperial, GKT, UCL), and I presume this works the other way round to. Edinburgh also allows direct entry to clinical phase, and possibly other places, though I'm not aware of them.

I don't have time to check personal statements at the moment, sorry.

It is possible to transfer if you have extenuating circumstances. Some people transferred into my year at Cardiff from Southampton at the end of the 1st year. You'd have to ask your uni and the uni you want to transfer to.

for amoeba, apparantly the only circumsatances are if you or a member of your family are ill and you are moving so you can look after them/get the support you need, or if a spouse is moving(eg in my medical school student transfered here because her husband was moving here). but they consider each case independantly, and even if your reason is deemed worthy they can still say no. pretty annoyed myself because i really want to transfer, my reasons not deemed 'worthy' however.
